beware of highlawn moving and storage based in brooklyn ny. a broker comes to my apartment to take an estimate, he looks all over the apartment and writes down every thing in the apartment, on move day, the movers come and what was quoted to me at 360 Sq Ft ends up being 600 Sq Ft, i call the moving company and I was told that the broker was accurate in his accessment and I was at fault for having this amount

i reinerated that i was not the professional, the broker physically came to my place and first hand saw what needed to be moved, how could i have more stuff when he saw everything firsthand, the movers themselves, said to me "this company does this all the time, they give one price then increase it the day of the move". Not only did I have to pay an additional $600, the driver on the day of delivery didnt show up.

when he did show up, he was 3 hours late and showed up alone, we had to wait an additional hour to find an additional helper to help him move my stuff. when the move was finished, the driver refused to pay the helper leading up to a physical altercation infront of my parents and i.

upon delivery, i noticed that my desk chair and part of the desk were missing, i asked the driver and he said he has packed everything from the storage space. I said well my chair and part of my desk are missing, he encouraged me to call the front office which i did to not avail. i was refered to David the apparent claims specialist, who doesnt exist, because i also got the BBB involved, the manager and receptionist would conference call me to this apparent David who sounded EXACTLY like the broker Josh, when i did call to confront them, they all fumbled their words

I was positive that the voice was Josh the broker not this apparent claims manager David that I am sure doesnt exist, i'm still in a daily battle with this useless company to retrieve my chair and desk part, i wish i could go back and pay more for a good company, i wouldnt have to deal with this nonsence, they are LIARS and THIEVES

if you know what is good for you, you will not use highlawn moving and storage for ANYTHING
