Recently this company charged my card without my authorization. When I called to try to get the refund they are giving me the run around. I got a Call from Joe the man himself. FULL OF IT! He claims it's not there fault but it is. They took my money no problem and now they are jerking around on the refund. I had never heard of them till recently and I am glad I did some research.... It looks like they are at it again!! Only this time they are blaming on someone else using my card. It's possible but if that's the case... They should issue a credit right away and they are not!!!!

FYI - Joe Gomez did not ask me to write the above message, was unaware that I did, and was certainly not a condition of our agreement. I find it ironic that I am defending Joe as I don't believe I'm high in his "bud" list (or he mine). However, I think facts should accompany accusations and so far, I haven't seen any facts that shows anyone has been ripped off by HirebBug.

That said, I appreciate this site and your bringing to light issues regarding Joe's former employer and associates as this was all undeniable information that played a part in my decision to change course before I invested too much valuable time.

If trying to look at a situation fairly and constructively is brown nosing, then I'm guilty as charged. I just think that your site would be even more effective if there was a little more objectivity with the emotion.

I can't speak for your situation and am sorry for your difficulties. Based in my experience I suggest you contact Mr. Gomez and ask again for a resolution. I signed up as a division owner several weeks ago prior to any of these postings attacking HireBug and more directly, Mr. Gomez's past affiliation with Transcontinental.

Clearly, there are angry people with many complaints against his former employer. There are also many concerned division owners and employees at HireBug. I for one decided not continue because I no longer felt confident in the long term viability of what I think is a great concept. When I addressed my concerns with Doug Daru (former VP-Sales) and Mr. Gomez (President), they were more than cooperative in ending our agreement and refunding my initial investment (even though they were under no contractual obligation to do so).

This post is clearly a mixed bag (as most real world situations are). I didn't leave because I felt Mr. Gomez or HireBug was trying to cheat me. In fact, if you look closely at their model (as I have) you will find that there is little for Mr. Gomez to gain unless his division owners (those whom he collects this investment from)succeed. However, I did feel that some strategic mistakes were made by management and that their business plan was put in jeapordy by those mistakes.

This company needed to be more open about past business affiliations and current individuals involved in the operation because this information spreads and creates a cancer that is hard to stop. I will also agree that they were far too concerned with getting me signed on and paid too little attention to my (and others) long term benefit for the company.

I believe they tried to do too much too quickly and they are now reeling from that effort. It is truly a shame because at the root of all this is a great service that will save employers money in their recruiting effort leaving more money for them to spend on the employees themselves. A true win-win scenereio.

I pulled out because I was no longer confident they could accomplish their goals and fight this battle at the same time. Like in most business ventures, you are only as good as your weakest link. To Joe Gomez, I want to say thank you for being honorable in your dealings with me. Your a bright young man with a great idea. Despite my pull-out, I hope you are able to fix some of your initial errors and recover and wish you the best.
