Hobson Comfort Experts Crooks - Terrible Company - Dishonest cleburne Texas

I keep hearing about people that have been wronged by Hobson Comfort Experts, so I had better submit this information of my experiences with that company.

I had a service agreement and called them several times because my AC unit was not working properly.  The serviceman recommended that the compressor be replaced as soon as possible, but that even that might not be enough….so, I should consider getting a new unit. 

A friend told me to get a 2^nd opinion.  I did.  When the new serviceman came to check the unit – he only cleaned the outside coils and that was all and charged me $75.  He said the unit was still running good and there was no need for a new compressor.

The Hobson man estimated that I would need a compressor, blower motor, and conductor at a cost of $2841.00.  Either the Hobson serviceman did not know his job very well or the company is ripping people off.  I am sure it is some of the first and a lot of the second !

I called the Hobson office and told the girl that answered the phone about this incident.  I asked her to terminate our service agreement as there was still one more payment due on it.  She said she could not do that and if I stopped payment I would be reported to a credit bureau as a bad debt.  And, to stop payment which was coming out of my checking account would have cost me money anyway.  So, I had to let them do draft the payment. 

Hobson Comfort Experts are rip-offs! I have signed paperwork from their serviceman with the recommendations in writing.  Again, the compressor replacement would have cost me $2841.00, and they had sent a salesman who suggested I buy the lifetime guaranteed unit for $8836.90.

Our unit has been running great for over a year now and the only costs I have incurred were the $75 for the coil cleaning and the $80 for the Freon that was installed 3 months ago. 

I am forwarding this to the Better Business Bureau and whichever agencies need to know about it, so if anyone needs proof of the deceptive practices of Hobson Comfort Experts, I will be very glad to help out.
