Huge scam, the proof is they illegally spoofed MSNBC with a fake web site that appears to be teh real MSNBC.

 I am reporting this to the REAL MSNBC, which has been relabeled as NBCnews for the last few months.  MSNBC as a web site is incative and redirects you to NBCnews.com, among other things.

The spoof site is: http://www.msnbc.msn.com-sept-2012.us/?fGV9pD

This may not show up if you link to it as I reported it to the real NBC news.

THE SCAM: they copied a valid NBC news story and changed the text, adding their site as part of the story so it looks like it is THE BEST JOB EVER!

HOW TO SPOT A SPOOF SITE?  First notice the fake URL.  The full URL used is"msnbc.msn.com-sept-2012.us"  <- note the "US" country designation instead of "com", the "com" in the URL is part of the site name, not the usual domain type.  

In this case, the "US" at the end before the "/" is the domain type, same as com, biz, gov. etc.  If it was real it wold be "msnbc.msn.com/sept-2012..... followed by an article number.  

The site itself is totally bogus.  Note the missing slash after the "com".  A "-" is a valid URL character while a "/" is a special web character.  Here the spoofers hope one will not notice the difference.

I hope NBC will fully prosecute these rip off artists.  From the way it appears on Google search it appears it has been out there for some time.  I wonder if I am the first to bring it to the attention of NBC.  If you run across any bogus sites like this one I hope you will also take the time to report it to the company being spoofed.
