I have been trying for over a year and a half to refinance my mortgage with homecomings which was a fixed rate for first 2 years and then ARM. Homecomings does not and will not cooperate with other lenders and gave out erroneous information in my case which would cause a refinance and new mortgage to cost me more than it should in addition to a 20% prepayment penalty. I was told to wait until the rate adjusted but never received any notification of an increase or adjustment of the rate. I was charged erroneous and ridiculous late charges but every time I would call I would be put on hold for in excess of 45 minutes and then disconnected. I could never talk to the same person twice. When I asked for an accounting of my payments, half of my payments were not credited or were not applied on the date they were received and most times not until after the grace period, adding more late charges. They filed a notice of default and I have worked with them ever since trying to work out a repayment which I did and made payments through Western Union for tracking purposes. Some of the payments they sent back into a Western Union Account without notifying me until I contacted them to check on the proper posting of my payment. Now I can never reach any of the people I talked to by phone or email, representatives will not give last names and I have emailed, called and always recieve a generic email, I am told to call an 800# and get connected with GMAC RESPAC real estate properties. I have emailed every executive listed on websites and receive no response. I have no idea where my entire mortgage, home, etc stands. In addition Homecomings imposed insurance without my knowledge and added these fees into my mortgage. I was told everything was fine, I stood by the repayments and now I have no idea where anything stands because no one will return phone calls, emails or correspondance. This company is fraudulently and manipulatively ripping off any consumer or custmer that comes in contact with them. I accessed the tax assessor website and suddenly taxes were paid without my knowledge but nothing is recorded at the recorders office. I am so frustrated and wished I had never heard of Homecomings or any GMAC company or entity. GMAC is a big giant putting millions of dollars in their pocket at the expense of innocent hard working consumers. They need to be stopped.!!!
