We purchased a nearly new Honda 2012 CBR 250R motorcycle in May of 2012 from Mountain Motor Sports of Conyers.  It had been returned after short time for another bike by a one of their regular customers.  While we were initially told that the manufacturer warranty would apply, after a while they indicated we needed to purchase and extended warranty to insure that it was covered, and we did.

My son was a new daily rider, and we were to return for service at 600 to 1000 miles.  We brought it back to Mountain Motor Sports of Marietta for service at 600 miles, since it would take Conyers a week to get to routine service.  Shortly after that at about 4600 miles my son did lay the bike down on its side, we took it to Marietta for inspection.  They declared it all to be comedic damage but could not get simple parts for weeks.   Early September about 1000 miles later the bike began to leak oil from various places in the engine.  Again we returned to Marietta and they could not explain why it happened, they thought it strange and suggested it might be related to being laid down, but the time and way it leaked did not seem to be related.

In October my son was hit from the back by a truck and went over the handlebars, we took it back to Marietta for evaluation. Again they determined that all damage was cosmetic, and it would take 6 to 8 weeks to get the parts.  The damage was not so sever that we could not continue to ride the bike.

In mid December roughly 2000 miles later, the bike accelerated unusually from a stop and come out from under my son and laid on the other side.  It would not start, so now we returned to Conyers for evaluation.  They have indicated that the unit has spun a rod bearing, causing piston and valve issues.  They have decided that it is from oil starvation and not covered by warranty.

Based upon our experience, do not buy a bike from Mountain Motor Sports, and expect your warranty to be any good as they will find a reason for it to be your fault, they are not to be trusted or expect to be able to acquire parts on a timely basis for your new bike.
