The first week of August 2010 (on or around August 4th) I took my motorcycle to Honda of High Point to get it inspected and to get a new battery.  Honda did the work, and the next day I picked up my motorcycle and rode it home.  On the way home about 3 miles from the Honda shop my motorcycle began to bogg down and shut off at a stop light on Eastchester Dr.  I had to call my wife to pick me up and take the bike home.  The next day I took the motorcycle back to the Honda shop and told them what happened.  They explained to me that I said, " I probably needed a battery" so they did not check it for anything else.  I took the blame for that one.  Once I brought the bike to them for the second time, they checked the bike and charged me an extra diagnose fee, and told me that I would need a new starter.   Next, I asked the dealer to do whatever they needed to do to fix the problem.  They order a starter for me that he said was back ordered, and took about a week.  About a week and a half later they informed me that my bike was ready.  I picked up the motorcycle and paid around $240.  I rode the bike home 3-4 miles from the shop and when I got to my neighborhood the bike did the same thing that it was doing from the beginning and shut down.  I called back to the Honda shop and informed the owner John that I just left from his shop and my bike is not fixed.  John (with no apology) simply stated that Jeff (service manager) is already gone for the day.  He offered no other comments or apologies.  I took my bike back to the Honda shop for a third time and they informed me that my regulator\rectifier was the cause of the problem.  I tried to get the owner to explain to me how did they missed this, or was he trying to convince me that this part was fine after two trips to his service dept and it suddenly went out during my 3 mile ride from Honda to home.  His reply to me was that he was not a mechanic.  I left the bike there yet again to see if they could fix the original problem. After another week or two I never heard back from Honda so I called to check on my motorcycle.  The service dept told me that my bike was already fixed although no one called me to tell me.  I told him that I would be there to pick up my bike and could they get it out for me to pick up.  On the way to pick up my bike, I received a call from the service dept telling me that my bike still was not ready.  I spoke to the owner on the phone and asked him did he plan on charging me a third time for a problem that had not been fixed in three attempts.  He told me that he would not eat the price of the part, but he would offer 15-20% off of the labor.  Considering that I have paid labor charges 2-3 before for the same problem hardly feels like a good deal to me.  Now here we are on Oct 1, 2010 and the supposedly Certified Honda dealer still has my bike.  I have missed two months of the riding season and several charity rides, and the opportunity to hit the open road patiently waiting on this Certified Honda Dealership to repair the original problem.
