I interviewed with this company and there were over a dozen people interviewing in the same time frame I was there. I was offered no information about the compnay and when I asked, the anwser was vague. The interview lasted less than 15 minutes and I could not find anything on the company when I searched the web and SC Business filings.

Three days after my interview, I saw another ad for jobs with them, but instead of the hr.horizonbusinessconcepts@gmail.com address they used before, it was portcitypromotionsinc@gmail.com. Upon doing a search, they are listed in SC Business filings, but I also found this website with descriptions of interviews just like the one I was subjected to.

I found it very odd when he asked me what position I was looking for and when I said "Administrative" he said he needed an assistant. I aslo found it odd that there would be financial information onvolved, yet the ONLY progam used by his company was Excel.

Also, he is hiring SO MANY PEOPLE, yet the office had four rooms and a lobby, and I saw no office equipment beyond a computer.

Same Experience More Info

I think I had the same experience, at the same location, and with the same people. There were at least five other people there, and the general manager spoke very quickly and tried to rush through the interview. He gave almost no information about the company or the jobs they were looking to fill (he said they needed to fill several as quickly as possible).

After finding this report I decided to do some searching of my own. As it turns out, Horizon Business Concepts and Port City Promotions are both listed on the Secretary of State website, and are both owned by the same man. Neither have a website so far as I can tell (PCP was founded two years ago, and the only URL I found led nowhere), and the owner's Facebook page says he is his own boss, with no mention of any business (not entirely suspicious, but wouldn't you be promoting your two businesses?)

Finally, Ripoff Report has several reports of Port City Promotions being connected to windshield scams, and even a report similar to these two from Connecticut. This all seems pretty fishy to me, and I'm not sure if I am going to go to my second interview.

One note on the original report. I overheard the receptionist call herself an administrative assistant, and that she had been working there for three weeks. Unless the original reporter got an interview early, and didn't report it until later, she would have already been hired, and thus the owner wouldn't need another assistant.
