Horizon Carpet Cleaning Services Total Scam Artists and Workers with Bad Attitudes Tampa, Florida

So I hired these people to clean up the townhome I was moving out of. Scheduled an appt for December 23rd between 12p and 2pm. My landlord was going to open up the place for them to get in because I was to be away for the holidays. I thought everything was great until I get off my plane and receive a phone call from my mom stating that the landlord had called her stating that the guy was there and said that the $16.95 for the two rooms I quoted no longer applied because the front room was heavily soiled. Therefore, it would now be $89. And before I get any nasty comments (a) my carpets were not soiled especially not the front room since no one hardly ever goes in there and I lived alone and (b) I was already expecting the price to be raised because I knew they were going to find a reason for the deep treatment to be necessary so the $89 was yes more than I expected to spend but was totally fine with me and wanted him to proceed with the job).

Anyways, to back track alittle I had previously spoken with a woman from the company who called from a 727 Pinellas number though I lived in Hillsborough and after explaining that my landlords would let the cleaner in however I was paying for the cleaning. She informed me that was fine and after the cleaning was finished the cleaner would give me a call and get payment from me over the phone great. Well to much dismay by the time I called the landlord back she says the cleaner had left because he insisted on being paid before the job was done (no way in heck am I paying for a service before I get satisfactory work). So we call the company to find out what the deal was because I was clearly told payment was due after services were rendered. When I called and explained the situation the receptionist stupidly asks me, "Well what do you want me to do"? Uh duh I want you to get him back out here. She places me on hold and the next voice I hear is the angry, rude tone of the guy who had come out to clean (I guess) and he wouldn't shut up for two seconds to be told that the $89 was fine. He proceeded to tell us that he wouldn't clean the carpets for the tenants, that he would only clean for the landlords. Well who the heck did he think he stormed off on. He also asked did we think they just billed for services and that he needed to be paid first. Ok fine but that's not what I was told when I originally talked to someone. At this point I was fed up with being yelled at like a child I didn't even want him to come back out and neither did the landlords. Before he ever so kindly hung up the phone on my mom and I he says that he wasn't coming back out, we would need to find someone else to clean and good luck on that! Great he saved me from having to fire his sorry a** company from the job.

I was lucky enough to find a maid service who cleans the house and the carpets and gladly payed $235 for a thorough cleaning that the landlords said was a job well done. They also gladly accepted my payment over the phone and emailed me a receipt (like Horizon could have done if they were true professionals-- it's called Square really simple app to download and it's free to use). Guess I did have some good luck. Horizon Carpet Cleaning will never get my business for a basic nor deep cleaning or anything else for that matter. They seriously should rethink their business strategy because this one impression will be the lasting one for me towards this company and they could've had some serious business in the future especially since I have pets in my new place.
