This company has lied to several owners in the past and I was there foreman four years. After I found out that my 401 was gone I decided to turn them in. All the people I have contacted are now in the position to sue. Do not do business with these underhanded people.

Your old foreman from GCR

AUTHOR: Randy - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Tuesday, April 07, 2009

sounds liike they stuck you good. Did you work on some colleges & universitys. Did you know you were to recieve overtime after 8 hrs. even if you did not have your 40hrs. Did you recieve a prevailing wage( like earned for busting your nuts) for these greedy owners. Not only did they cheat (in your words) but they carlessly handled your future. How about we lose a few thousand pennies for them on a state project that they dont pay the (whole crew prevailing wages) saving them thousands of bucks and listen to them b***h. If you have to cheat your employees & cheat your customers to stay in buisness the reputation speaks for itself. If any of the above is true, contact the Dept. of Labor & industry @ (800)342-5354. Catch ya later farmboy. P.S.- i like how your other rebuttals actually incriminated there boss by calling you a whisle blower and confirming your testimonial on overlaying a roof that was bid to be removed. Is it a FELONY to swindle on a signed contract.

#8 REBUTTAL Owner of company

read this stuff clearly

AUTHOR: Keith - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Wednesday, March 17, 2004

After reading the responses I feel that this sight is another goverment type goofaaa!I clearly stated what the second crew ran by the owners son and nephew and the owner himself was the crew that did the cheating. At least one off them was always on the roof as job sight superintendant.w hen they used my crew , My crew reported to me about the materials being used and the inferior products that were not Firestones. Some of the materials used was cheap 2 cent screws instead of firestones 15 cent screws. the quality of the screws was so bad that when using them they snaped off. Then and only then did I confront the owners with what was going on.I did this knowing that the warranty would never stand up. Also I contacted firestone and told the roof inspectors what was happening. They said they dont warranty workmanship only there product. They dont know what is under the rubber. In the winter while patching roofs that leaked ,The ones that the other crew did . I found out that they had done fully adhered roofs charging for a thicker rubber required for longer life. instead they had used 40 ml. thick rubber and turned it over so that the thickness stamp could not be seen .When talking about cheaper screws you do the math figuring a roof that needs 10,000 screws what a savings . Or the rubber thickness 27 cents a square ft or40 cents and the rubber comes in 20x100 ft. rolls. well I did my part and I'm open to condemnation, but I will talk and face the facts. Will horizon?? no .Its another big company that gets of the hook. I can live with myselfe. I am taking all the right steps and will be making several court dates at my own time and expense to help several companies and building owners get justice. For all the negative people on this post ,What have you done latley for the cause of truth or justice???

Maybe Robin read the report?

AUTHOR: Larry - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Tuesday, March 16, 2004

Candance:

Robin probably thought Keith, who filed the original report, was the foreman because Keith wrote "I was there [sic] foreman four years." Duh!

As to your suggestion that Keith has no liability because his employer ordered him to participate in a fraudulent scheme and Keith did so willingly and knowingly for some four years, I would love to know your legal theory. Your employer has no legal right to order you to commit an unlawful act, such as to defraud. I know of no legal recognition for a defense based on orders from your boss. If you doubt this, try to get out of a speeding ticket by telling the judge that your boss told you to exceed the speed limit.

While Keith did not explicitly state that he no longer works for Horizon, it's rather doubtful that he is still working there after they ripped off his 401K and he "decided to turn them in."

Are you serious? I am not defending this company!

AUTHOR: Robin - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Tuesday, March 16, 2004

What do you mean, "how do I know he was a foreman"?

It is stated in the first line of his report:
"This company has lied to several owners in the past and I was there foreman four years."

Any on-site foreman who allows work to be done in such a way that lives are put in jeopardy can be held liable. Keith has four years of these shoddy roofing jobs behind him. That old "The boss told me to" dog does not hunt anymore in legal venues!

If one of these buildings collapses, Keith will undoubtedly be in the courtroom, whether he wants to be or not. Any professional who values his customers and his own personal welfare can and should refuse to do work that they feel is unsafe.

I am not defending this company; even foremen should be checked on by an even higher boss occasionally, so it is certainly clear that the big boys at Horizon are not taking care of business.

Evidently there are many unhappy people out there on account of them. Their roofs leak, whatever; I am not a customer, happy or unhappy.

I just find it ridiculous that Keith gets on this board and crows about how he was a willing accomplice in ripping off customers for four years. And willingly did work he acknowledges now was unsafe.

When the company mishandled his own 401K, Keith suddenly finds a conscience buried under his own greed. Now he is "blowing the whistle".

Keith seeks to incite unhappy customers to sue Horizon. I just wanted to make him aware that he can be named in that suit himself, especially if there is an accident leading to deaths.

If one of those buildings should collapse and kill someone, that new-found conscience might be hard to live with.

I hadn't seen where the complaintant had stated he had been the 'foreman', but I stand by my comments that the fraud starts at the TOP...not the middle!

#3 UPDATE EX-employee responds

I am the one letting you know what is wrong with this company.

AUTHOR: Keith - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Tuesday, March 16, 2004

honesty, when I left the company the second crew was one of misfits and parts of my crew were used. They reported to me what was going on and when I brought it to the owners attention there reply was so what. With that knowledge I turned them into the state and they did nothing.Recently the E.P.A. has aproached them to do soil samples in the spring to adress possible toxic waste buried on the site.Dr.Larry Thienes has had all kinds of trouble collecting for faulty work that was done at the order of the owners.I left this company when I found out. I was then told to collect my 401 at a later time.only now with the help of the federal goverment am I finding out the extent of the fraud on workmans comp, state and federal taxes, and social security.

And by the way. This I have been told. went on for a long time as far back as 1981.Once the goverment became involved,They informed me of the magnatude and I just finding this sight yesterday adressed the issue with the limited time I have on this computer. I assure you I am not doing this for revenge as stated by some.I have been doing this work to let people know the truth for some time.

The goverment moves slow And I own my own buisness.I deliver oysters to every major hotel in las vegas.I am and always was honest or I would still be working there.I welcome any and all e-mails searching for more info.Polynesian village apartment complex is another huge complex that has roof failure .Contact them and ask

Huh?

AUTHOR: Candance - (United Kingdom)

POSTED: Tuesday, March 16, 2004

Robin....how do you know this person was a foreman? And if he was/is...wasn't he doing just what he was ordered to do...that's the word in roofing circles! I know pple who live in some Horizon-roofed apartment bldgs who have lost many precious items due to leaks, and this is very recent!! Is the initial complainer STILL foreman, btw? How come so many businesses done by Horizon Roofing are reporting leaks, as well as a mulitude of complaints about shoddy workmanship, done recently? I wouldn't have them roof an outhouse! The buck starts at the TOP...not the middle!!

Only after you get burned do you report them? Revenge can backfire!

AUTHOR: Robin - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Monday, March 15, 2004

What in the world were you thinking during your stint as foreman for this company?

Did you think that it was okay to lie to home and business owners and "endanger their lives" for FOUR YEARS as long as you personally profited from that? And only after you got burned personally did your conscience kick in and make you want to tell all?

I am finding it very difficult to dredge up much sympathy for you. In fact, the people whom you have contacted should be NAMING you in this suit as an active participant in the fraud.

I hope one of your victims (and, yes, YOU helped victimize them) reads this and realizes that you are as guilty as anyone else at Horizon Roofing for silently letting this fraud continue. Proper legal measures should be taken against you to keep you from knowingly aiding and abetting fraud in the future.

Especially fraud that endangers lives.

I cannot see that you were ripped off; you were the one ripping off! You assume there is "honor among thieves"...surprise!!

Your little "revenge" plan may just backfire on you!
