I found at this link http://southflorida.dbusinessnews.com/shownews.php?newsid=102299&type_news=past that David Vavro, the owner of Horizon Travel (as well as other companies) has been released of responsibility in the $64 million judgement obtained by the AG of Texas. I guess crime does pay.
But I hope all those who have posted will continue the "full court press". I encourage everyone to checkout my posting at squeakywheel.com. Let's also keep-up the pressure on government agencies, the Ag's office & the FTC.

I have confirmed that David Vavro is also an owner of VIP Travel Incentives. All of the filing information is the same as for TCI. I contacted the Texas AG office of consumer affairs. They were very clear - they have NO interest in investigating Mr. Vavro or any of his businesses! So I am still trying to solicit contact from other victims in the hopes of persuing a class action law suit. Please check my posting at TheSqueakyWheel for information on how to contact me.

I have confirmed that David Vavro is an owner of both Horizon Travel & Travel Club International. The corporate office for the now defunct Horizon Travel in Arlington, TX is now being answered by TCI. Some of us think we can go after this swindle with a class action lawsuit. Maybe if we can get this together & into a federal court we might get a little justice.

We went to Horizon Travel location at 2229 Ave. J in Arlington Friday the 26th. The office was empty. Some neighboring office workers said that they had been gone about a month.
I emailed Melody Gastin, Director of Membership for TCI to find out where they had gone. She replyed that TCI did not renew it's contract with Horizon to sell memberships, HOW CONVENIENT! Now TCI can disavow any responsibility & "Horizon Travel" has skipped town (if I were a betting man I would give odds that "Horizon" will show-up again under a different name, doing the exact same thing).
But I don't think we should give up. If we work together we can find out the new company name TCI is using to push this scam & target them for picketting. In addition we can collectively put more pressure on the AG's office & the FTC. It is clear from the response we got from the AG that they will only act if compelled to do so.
