In the beginning of the duration of my service in the Marine Corps, I have applied to a Guitar Center account. I was able to make every payment until up to the time when I getting deployed to the Middle East last year. I have taken the initiative to even call them up and tell them what my situation was...I have been called upon to do my duty and service to the U.S. I was going to be undisposed and unavailable for making payments on time and that there was nobody else willing to help me out, only until I make it back stateside, so they agreed to 'freeze' my account. After my obligated tour of duty, I would be back around to pay it where I left off. So I thought!

Upon my return to the U.S., and being separated/discharged out of the military, I came to learn when I arrived to my Home of New Mexico and I had outstanding bills collected up to my neck with this Collection Agency. I called them at the best opportunity to see what went wrong. What I learned... first of all, it was never 'frozen' to begin with.

A whole chain reaction occurred when I got separated from the service. I soon realized that the employment in the civilian life is extremely different. My first priority was to get a job and pay off my debts, bills, and getting ready to support my fiance and my unborn child. No luck for employment, was promised job in Oregon, but once I spent all my money to get there from New Mexico, they never delivered. And again, we were left homeless and employed. During this whole time, my and my pregnant fiance had no choice but to sleep in my Jeep Cherokee, "Hotel Jeep" is what we called it. And this was during the winter! I was then promised a job in Texas so I relied on money through the only place where I can earn money, at some Temporary Labor Center in Portland.

Once we earned enough money to make it to this important job interview in Dalls, Texas and my babygirl being born. Household Bank sure had a good way to locate me, plus having my number (as if it were on speed dial)...Heck, they can find people faster than the IRS! Many times I have offered to pay my bills as "good faith" even though it wasn't the minimum amount. They actually refused my offer. Hey, I finally had the opportunity to a least put some money down, I was willing to pay. However, it wasn't a good enough for them, this is where they started to get very negative and rude. The man I would like to reveal, goes by the name James Fry of Corporate Receivables. My fiance worked as a Debt Collector in the past so she was the best candidate to tell me what the DOs and DON'Ts are when regarding to the Fair Debt Collection Act.

Here are many things that I have encountered with Corporate Receivables from a man who goes by the name of James Fry. Here is the list of his incompetence and proof of no bearing:

--He used very derogatory words, using criticizism and threats, telling me that he will make it "become personal!"

--Contacted my mother without my consent, told me and others to loan/borrow it for me!

--Refused my request for the copy of my contract (isn't that my full-fledge right to view a copy of my contract?)

--He also gave me a deadline to pay the minimum of $106 by Friday, if not paid by the deadline, it will be sent to an attorney. I came up with the money on Wednesday, to deliver my news, he refused to take it because he already sent the case to an attorney. Come on now, I came up with the money 3 days before his deadline and he just totally blew me off!

--James Fry also refused to give me the address to send the money order!

--He even refused to release his company info as well as his supervisors. I had to call multiple sources through Household Bank to find the agency's name of "Corporate Receivables".

--Told my fiance to shut her mouth because she has no job and not paying for bills. (Whom she was heard in the background during my conversation with James Fry).

I'm sure I will hear of them again!

furthur accusations against James Fry

AUTHOR: Jason - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Wednesday, May 26, 2004

I forgot to include furthur accusations against James Fry - Corporate Receivables:

He has implicated that nonpayment of any debt will result in the garnishment unless such action is made to pay the debt. From what I understand is the the IRS and Child Support can only take garnishments with the consent of the individual. Unless the contract says so itself, am I right?

The false representation or implication that I have committed a crime or other conduct in order to disgrace me. that is another violation of the Fair Debt Collection Act!
