While it is too late to be scammed by Housing Law Center, be sure to google Brian J. Colombana and Paragon Law Group as he will change the name of his outfit as his scams come out in the open. When I originally did my research I could find nothing on Housing Law. Nine months later, house being foreclosed, thousands of dollars gone I can now find plenty to warn me about Mr. Colombana. It is too late for me but I will share my story on my blogsite at http://roxntreez.squarespace.com/brian-j-colombana  today is December 02 and this here is the first response I have received from Mr. Brian J Colombana. As I read it I could almost here him snikering about how clever he thinks he is.
Hi Colin,

I just spoke with Kim who informed me of your emails.  I did not get them because gmail directed every email you ever sent me to my spam folder.  I don't know why but you should look into that.

Didn't you read the retainer agreement you signed?  It expressly states a disclaimer of guarantee and the refund policy is clearly outlined in it.  I don't know how I could have been more clear about the agreement.

{I need to break in here to provide some context: here is the e-mail I sent to Brian J. Colombanas agent: James Quinn:

James,
Your "guarantee" is contradicted by the disclaimer of your guarantee. Which states:"Our entitlement to compensation is NOT dependent on a successful outcome in the case." How does that guarantee that if you are unsuccessful I will get a refund? Colin James than proceeded to explain and guarantee in writing that:
"The bottom line is that if we accept your case you will recieve a great modification. We will not accept any case that we will not win ."   I have dozens of e-mails where he made false claims. That he is no longer there for you to "reprimand" is a joke. You are the author of this scam. You know it and I know it. The only question left is will you be impacted by my efforts to make sure you don't screw anyone else. As it is my profession to optimize website for content and page rank I will, I think have great success sharing my experiences and the dozens of e-mails from James with anyone searching for any of your shady organizations. Including the 50 plus e-mail addresses James sent me in a bulk e-mail he sent to all of his clients.   Regardless of the outcome we both know the truth about what you are. Feel free to put me on you mailing list so I can keep track of your corporate name changes.   Regards
Now back to Brian J. Colombanas e-mail to me:

We did a lot of work on your file but found that your lender would not work with you because of your prior failures to follow through with plan payments.(lies)That does not always mean you cannot get a modification because if you have an additional hardship, they will often review your request again.  Chase did review your case again and came to the same conclusion.  We tried to get you approved under the Making Home Affordable modification program as that was not available when you first tried with Chase.

James no longer works with us so I cannot question him about the emails.  (how convenient) All I can say is I apologize if he misled you but I made everything very clear in the retainer to prevent this kind of thing from happening.  Unfortunately, we are out of business and a refund would not be possible.  If you would like to explore other alternatives, I'll help you at no additional cost.  (because when I paid he was so effective?) I continue to work on all our cases even though our funds have been seized because I want to help you.  But when it comes to a modification, Chase has the final word for you.  I can only do so much to try to persuade them.

Regarding your other comments, you really don't know anything about me personally.  I have done everything in my power to help my clients out.  I did not get rich off this like some other scams I've seen.  I personally prequalified every case we took in and at the time we contacted Chase on your behalf, you qualified.  That is why I had an A.  Then sometime around early summer, all the lenders started going back on their representations to us and some files got declined.  We took every precaution we could to prequalify them and spent the fee they paid doing the work.  We could not give refunds.  The state bar did an investigation and did not pursue any charges because of how much time and effort we put into each file.  The attorney generals offices didn't even do an investigation, they only care about complaints.  So I'm sorry you feel you've been misled by James, I would reprimand him if I could be we are far past that point.  At this point, all I can do is help you moving forward.

Best regards,
Brian
This was the way his staff handled everything...platitudes and BS, keep you waiting, promise everything is going fine and don't talk to your bank they'll only try to cheat you out of the rate reduction we have already got you approved for. DON"T YOU BELIEVE IT. I did and for Christmas I'll be getting evicted.
