There is a scam taking place where an individual who calls himself Alex Mendez or some variation is calling timeshare owners from a Nevada phone number stating that he works for HP Consultants, Inc in Carlsbad, CA in our  Deed/Transfer Department and has a buyer willing to purchase the individual's timeshare. In order to finalize the sale, the timeshare owner must wire $600 to $750 to an individual named Ivan Montes in Atlantic City, NJ. He states that the money is going to the closing company who is processing the sale.

This is a scam......!!!!

As a partner with the real HP Consultants in Carlsbad, I received a call from one of our clients who received an unsolicited phone call from Alex Mendez. Our client called us to confirm whether this individual acrually works for our company. I collected all the information from our client and called Mr. Mendez pretending to be our client's son seeking clarification of the offer.

When I revealed to "Alex Mendez" that I worked for the real HP Consultants, Inc and ask what he thought he was doing using our company's name to defraud individuals (our existing clients included) he states, "What do you care? You've already collected your money. What business is it of yours if I get a little more on the side?" He also stated that he chose to use our company's name because we are accredited and have an A rating with the Better Business Bureau. He said that when he fails to actually sell the clients timeshare, they would file a compliant with the BBB and it would be our rating that suffers.

If anyone receives a call from anyone saying they represent HP Consultant, Inc. DO NOT pay them any money over the phone or send any wire transfers. This is a scam.

If you receive a call from anyone saying they represent HP Consultant, Inc. in Carlsbad, CA, please call us directly at (760) 448-1200 to confirm that the individual calling you actually works for our company.

Look who calls the kettle black

AUTHOR: Disgruntled renter - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Wednesday, May 27, 2015

aI received an unsolicited phone call from Melissa of HP Consultants about a timeshare I do not own, nor have ever owned.  I asked what comapny she was from, their address, their phone number and web address.  She answered all of my questions except the one which dealt with why they would call a registered Do Not Call phone and if she were familiar with the rules of the DNC registry.  Her only answer was, ' Have a blessed day" so I called and spoke with Larry Hanson, president of HP Consultants and asked him why they did not use scrub lists, why they were not registred with my state as necessary under the DNC guidlines, why they called if I didn't own a timeshare.  His lame excuse was that they do use a scrub list but have not registered with the DNC list.

I asked that he and Melissa purchae their plane tickets so as not to be late for their court date for haraament.  I have told this outfit numerous times to leave me alone.  The scam is this outfit with caller ID's which read "private"
