Humana advertises on TV a free book on Medicare by requesting it online at "humanafreebook.com.  but when you try to go to www.humanfreebook.com you end up on a search page full of ads.  After trying several sites I realized that while Humana advertises the free book, you can't actually find a way to request it on line.

One site I searched had posts from several people trying to request the book only to be advised to go to www.humanafreebook.com!  And then the site administer closed out the discussions.

If Humana is either this deceptive or simeply incompetent in their IT, I wonder how they handle my health insurance claims?  If I can't trust Humana to make this an easy request I have to wonder how easy it would be to file an insurance claim with these guys!

As Nietzsche is quoted, "I'm not upset that you lied to me, I'm upset because from now on I can't believe you."

Humanafreebook.com conundrum

AUTHOR: Zog - (United States)

POSTED: Tuesday, November 06, 2018

Robert-  Thanks for your response and no big deal. I doubt Humana really gives a hoot about my screed on this site.  they're doing quite well in this environment.

By the way, I did not call the number given in the ad because that was what I was trying to avoid- talking to an agent before I had my facts together.  When you try to contact online insurance providers you have to give out your phone and then the phone rings incessantly and calls come in like Niagra Falls. I've learned to avoid them or give out my never used cell number and let the texts and phone messages pile up unanswered.  When I was younger (and more naive), as a courtesy I tried to respond to each of them.  Duh.   It just gets annoying trying to do business with a large corporation that tries unsuccesfully to automate its customer service and then sucks up my time as I (and others, apparently) try to navigate what should be a simple web site.  Too much Google ad marketing, squeeze pages, platform links, etc.  Stay healthy.

I stand corrected..

AUTHOR: Robert - (United States)

POSTED: Tuesday, November 06, 2018

When I am wrong..I say I am wrong.  I actually did see the commercial being broadcast today that did say humanafreebook.com, so perhaps the online ad was an older(or newer?) ad.

However, when I did go to that site I got the correct site, not a site full of ads.  By the way it was the same link as the humanabigbook.com.  But one has to wonder, did you even try to contact them directly before writing a RipOff Report?

One other observation is that the link you stated you went to was humanfreebook.com  (notice human not humana)

Good Luck

Humanabigbook is not the same as Humanafreebook

AUTHOR: Zog - (United States)

POSTED: Monday, November 05, 2018

For the record, I  spent considerable time trying to locate the "Hunanafreebook.com" site.  I located the HumanaBIGbook site (among others) which is not the same material.  I'm an old geezer who was trying to check out Humana's Medicare Advantage plans and responded to their TV ad.  The ad was specific and didn't say "humanaBigbook".  The ad specifically stated "humanFREEbook.com".  Maybe Nietzsche was right: "There are no facts, only interpretations."  Nevertheless, see if YOU can locate "humanafreebook.com"  It may be out there somewhere but not easy to find.  During my fruitless search I noted many other respondents were having the same problem on another Humana link.  So I stand by my original complaint.

Before you quote

AUTHOR: Robert - (United States)

POSTED: Monday, November 05, 2018

Before you quote someone about lying, perhaps you should actually make sure that they are lying.

I found the ad online and it didn't tell you to go to the site you said.  The actual site it said to go to was humanaBigBook.com.  If by some chance this site redacts it you can just go to "humana big book" removing all of the spaces.

I wonder if Nietzsche has a quote for this?
