I am job searching on Manager level and was contacted three weeks ago regarding an Account Manager position with IBC Web Design.  Based out of Jersey Shore, PA, supoposedly, they sent an employment agreement that I had to sign and scan back to them which included a request for bank information.  Duties of the Account Manager, they said, was to act as liaison when clients in my area are signed (as this is supposedly a global company), are to be the only contact for these bogus clients who would need to deposit money into my personal account (or they even gave information if you wanted to set up a business account as an option to your personal account  what it should be named), they sent W4 form to complete sign and return, as well.  No I9, though, which when I asked why no I9, I never got a response.  After the money is deposited into your account, you then received information on where and to whom to wire the money.  The recipients are supposedly web developers working on the account that I am managing.  I received $3950 with instructions to wire to two separate individuals in Russia.  I did so, stupidly, and have not heard a word from them since doing so.  They have an elaborate web portal where you receive messages, documents and project tasks, which is where instructions were received.

Below are the instructions I received.  I have had no response since this day regarding updates on the project and questions regarding pay date.

Thanks, I can provide copies of their emplloyment agreement as well as the bogus proposal to the fake client.

Instructions

Diane Reed to You

Wanda,

Thank you for the confirmation! We've got a number of developer teams available, and the task is pretty simple: to deliver the funds to our lead developers who are outsourcing from Russia. They don't have bank accounts in the US, which is why we usually pay them by Moneygram. For the completion of this task you will receive a bonus, if you manage to disperse the funds by 3pm your time today.

The instructions are as follows:

1. Please visit your bank and withdraw $3900 in cash. You may also take $50 for any transportation expenses that may occur.

2. Visit the nearest Moneygram offices and send 2 transfers to our contractors. Don't forget to take your ID with you, as they require it in order to make transfers. Here is the information needed to send the funds:

1)

First name: ALEKSEY
Last name: OSTANIN

AGE: 32 years
OCCUPATION: Web Developer

COUNTRY: Russia (Russian Federation)
CITY: Pushkin

Amount to send: $1880
Fee: $70

2)

First name: VERA
Last name: ZUBKO

AGE: 34 years
OCCUPATION: Web Designer

COUNTRY: Russia (Russian Federation)
CITY: Pushkin

Amount to send: $1880
Fee: $70

IMPORTANT:

- Please be careful with the spelling of the developers' names! Even a single typo won't allow them to pick up the funds.

- The transfers must be done in person from a Moneygram location due to the limits on online transfers.

- The information you've been provided on the developers is confidential. Moneygram managers can stop the transfer is they believe it's for business purposes, so it's best NOT to mention you're doing it for work.

- Sometimes managers at locations may ask you, if you know the person you're sending the funds to: this is their general policy. As our experience shows, you can simply say: "Yes, I know that person", no further questions asked.

- Make sure you send the transfers as "10 Minute Service", so that they could be received today. We're paying considerable fees to make sure our contractors get paid as soon as possible.

- If Moneygram representatives tell you that they will not be able to process your transactions, please visit another office. Unfortunately, we can't do anything about it, since there might be limits for the amount of outgoing transfers basing on where a MG office is located.

3. Once you've completed the transfers, please reply to this message with an 8-digit Moneygram reference number number for each HERE, so that I could inform the developers that the funds are available for the pick-up.

You can log off the Web Panel while you leave to get this arrangement done, but please take your phone with you as me or my assistant can call you for an update. Please confirm receiving the instructions and let me know, if you have questions. You must complete the transfer by 3pm your time today due to the time difference between us and the contractors' location.

Regards,
Diane Reed
