Impact Interiors / Interior Style Unreliable and Unrepentant Bourbonnais Illinois

I made a large deposit to Donna and Stephen Bukowski, the owners of these two businesses, in December. In January, they jacked their prices up and asked for more. I should have known better, but I had met with Stephen several times and liked him personally. I let that cloud my judgment, and gave them cash instead of a credit card deposit. Instead, I should have run for the hills.

When they took the deposit money, they promised that my order would arrive in 3 to 4 weeks. In mid-February I started calling, and they quit answering their phone. Donna had the nerve to ask me to pay off the order (their contract requires the customer to pay once the order is in their store but before installation). I paid, but after a couple of weeks, it became obvious that they had not actually received my goods.

Finally, I called the manufacturer myself, found out that the Bukowskis had, indeed, ordered my window coverings, and that they would be shipped the following week. I feel very lucky that after rescheduling installation twice, the most expensive part of my order was finally installed in April. I am still without window coverings for half my windows, though. Donna had the nerve to ask me to pay the remaining balance in March, but I told her I would pay when the merchandise was actually in her store.

Last week, Donna promised to contact me with an installation date for the remainder of my order. I waited a full week without hearing from her. I emailed her again yesterday asking for an update, and she has not responded. If I never get these window coverings I will have lost 2 or 3 thousand dollars, but at least it won't be $23,000. I would not do business with these people again if they had the last window coverings in the universe.
