I've already seen several posts on this particular ripoff. How infuriating. I don't usually fall for things like this because I always read the fine print. And in the early days of internet marketing, giveaways like this were common.

So, I wanted to add this to make sure I get contacted if there's any action through this website.

I also wanted to suggest to everyone that has participated in this "rewards" program:

CONTACT THE SPONSORS AND COMPLAIN DIRECTLY TO THEM!!!
CONTACT THE SPONSORS AND COMPLAIN DIRECTLY TO THEM!!!

Ask what their involvement is with this company. If you kept services with them, cancel the service and tell them why! If we can't get them from the consumer end, let's at least kill their client base - and maybe even let one of these companies go after them. The offer companies are well established, legitimate companies, and I'm sure they would not want to be associated with a ripoff.

Finally, I hope someone here has the time to organize a class-action...

#2 Consumer Suggestion

Steps to Take...

AUTHOR: Todd - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Friday, December 31, 2004

Hi Jack,

I've also had a bad experience with this company, but just yesterday got my 40GB iPod. The only real way to resolve this possible scam is to take some formal action - very easy and not very involved as you shall see.

I issued a formal complaint to the North Carolina Department of Justice, Consumer Protection Section. It took no more than 20 minutes to do, and I wholeheartedly recommend that you please involve the NC Consumer Protection division of the Department of Justice (NC DOJ):

http://www.ncdoj.com/consumerprotection/cp_about.jsp

Contact info for the NC DOJ:
State of North Carolina

Raleigh, NC 27699-9001
Ph: (919) 716-6000
Fax: (919) 716-6050

Contact info for eMarket Research Group, etc. - "Fulfillment Division":

I hope this helps. Again, PLEASE take the time to alert the NC DOJ re: Niu Tech's dubious promotions as this is the only way to effect change. Have Niu Tech and all of their pseudonyms be held accountable.

Feel free to read my post that I made here about a month ago;

http://www.ripoffreport.com/view.asp?id=120246

you can use similar text to what I used in my formal complaint. The iPod was FedExed to me shortly after Niu Tech LLC was contacted by the North Carolina Dept. of Justice!

Sponsors say they're not affiliated? C'MON!!

AUTHOR: Jon - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Sunday, December 26, 2004

After posting this post, I read several others where the consumer had contacted the sponsor companies (AOL, Discover, Citi) and were told that there was no affiliation with E Market Research or Incentive Rewards. THIS IS B.S.

I was never asked for money directly from this "promotions" company. I'm assuming this is the same with everyone else. This means that for their scam to make money, they MUST be getting money from the advertisers. Further, my "offers status" was updated by, for instance, Discover, once my Discover application went though - therefore, DISCOVER MUST BE REPORTING BACK TO INCENTIVE REWARDS.

Again, I strongly suggest to everyone involved here to cancel any business with the sponsors and to COMPLAIN DIRECTLY TO THEM.
