A report was also filed by an Andrew in Chino, Ca. He went to the same 3 day $199 seminar I went to in Baldwin Park, Ca. I remember everything almost exactly as he wrote it. I've never met Andrew, but would love to so we can join in a class action suit against Income Strategies Institute and HB Products. I would also like to get the local authorities to pursue criminal indictments against them as well.

Were my experience differed from Andrew's or he just didn't cover was the original seminar. It was a free 3 hour seminar, basically a sales pitch for the $199 3 day sales pitch witch was represented to be a seminar and we would be personally introduced and a relationship would be initiated with Real Estate Mentors who specialize in forclosures, pre-forclosures, and REO properties. THIS NEVER HAPPENED! All we got was an incredibly boring story from 1 South American Woman speaking to a group of about 200 of us.

It was represented at the 3 hr seminar that we would be provided a program for MACD trading or something like that. This is software for making buying decisions about options trading. All they did was refer us to websites of other companies. They were written down for a few seconds and then wiped away. These programs were represented as being proprietary to ISI in the 3 hr seminar. The words "WE Have" and "We'll show you" were constantly repeated. All they had in the 3 day seminar was a sales pitch.

The biggest part of the Rip off is not the $199 for the Seminar!!! I have now had two charges on my checking account statement by HB Products. This company was never mentioned at 3 hr seminar or as part of the 3 day seminar. Yet they got my debit card information from ISI. They charged me $59.95 for set-up and hosting of a website. A website they never discussed from a company they never discussed. I have now been charged twice. I've called the Police in West Jordan UTah and they won't do anything, saying its a civil matter. It may be, but this is also a criminal matter. HB products insists that I signed something requesting this website yet they won't provide it.

The only thing I signed and provided my debit card for was with ISI and that was for the $199 seminar about Obtaining an education IN Real EState Investment, Options Trading, and Foreign Exchange trading. This has nothing to do with setting up websites to sell products. I have never received a letter from HB Products stating I had a website. I have never received anything from them except an entry on my bank statement for charges.

If I was running a legitimate school teaching investment strategies, I would be embarassed to be offering a multi level marketing website pipe dream. These people have absolutely no credibility in my eyes and their is no way I would trust them with anything, especially spending thousands of dollars on an education that would be very important to me and my family.

ISI and HB Products, I'm coming after you. If any class action attorney wants to come after these guys I can assure you they have victimized thousands of people. Let's get'em.

EDitor's Suggestions on how to get your money back!

HERE IS WHAT RIP-OFF REPORT SUGGESTS YOU DO:

Go to your bank within 60 days of the charge, or as soon as you know about the charge, don't delay, and tell them that there has been fraudulent activity within your account. Explain that you wish to file a dispute, and demand that they assist you in accordance with Federal Regulation E.

According to the majority of victims interviewed by Rip-off Report, those who immediately called their banks to dispute the charges did not get very far. Many victims got the following responses from their banks: we could not do anything for you or you waited too long; it has been more than 60 days.

If the bank is says that you have waited too long, explain to them how you called their 800 number as soon as the charges were found, and were told by the bank that nothing could be done. Remind the bank that they failed to assist you properly at the 800 #, and instead, provided you with an inadequate explanation of your right to dispute. Tell the bank that it's their fault time has expired, and since they gave you the wrong info to begin with, they will just have to deal with it, take the loss and reverse the charges.

Tell them the truth; this was unauthorized and your account was NOT to be charged! Keep emphasizing how you never authorized anything! Direct them to the hundreds of victims reports that were filed on Rip-off Report.com. And if you're at the bank, walk them over to their computer and make them go to this site! If you are on the phone with them, tell them you will wait while they access this site! Either way, be persistent!

DO NOT TAKE NO FOR AN ANSWER!

Let them know nicely, that you were advised to Report them (the Bank) and this situation to the Banking Commission in your state. Since each state has a different name for the agency/controller over banks, find that name before you call or get to the bank so you can throw it in their face. The more knowledgeable you appear to be, the further you will get.

And just continue to demand the Federal Regulation E form! The bank CAN, MUST and WILL reverse the charge! But, you must be persistent; ask to speak to the supervisor or the area manager for all the branches in the state.

Let the bank personnel know you are meeting with the media later in the day, that you would much rather they do the right thing (as most other banks have) by looking at the complaints and immediately reversing the charge(s) to your account; no matter how long ago it was. Be sure to call the Media if necessary so you are telling the truth.

If you have to, be loud (but nice) in front of other customers. If you are just calling by phone, the above tactics should still work. The bank can easily fax or mail to you the Federal Regulation E dispute form.

CHARGES TO YOUR CREDIT CARD

If the charge was to your credit card (not debit card, check card, or checking account), contact the credit card company as soon as possible to request a dispute form. Consumers usually have a little longer to dispute fraudulent credit card charges (up to 6 months), but it is better to act right away. In this type of situation, credit card disputes are usually successful since fraudulent companies often won't contest the disputed charge. In rare cases, credit card companies will review disputes, but refuse to reverse the charges. If this occurs, complain to a manager and let them know you will be filing a report here.

Remember Don't let them get away with it! Make sure they make the Rip-off Report .. The more Reports filed on a Company or individual, the more likely it is that the authorities, media and attorneys will want to take action.

And good luck Let us know how you do!

AUTHOR: Kathleen - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Thursday, March 22, 2007

My response is to what William of Westlake Village CA wrote.

William, You state that you did not know that HB Products Unlimited signed you up for a website. However, you contacted our office on several different dates. In one conversation you had us register a domain name to have your website redirected. Not only that but you also contacted our office to update your credit card expiration date and your new address and phone number.

HB Products, at your request, would fax, email, or mail you a copy of your signed activation form.

Your complaint below shows that you submitted it on 8/16/06 during this time you were still our client you sent in your cancellation letter in Nov 2006. I find it odd that you call us a rip off yet you still did business with us.

Thank you,

My Notes from the Free Seminar and the "Contract"

AUTHOR: Veronica - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Tuesday, January 23, 2007

Ok, I just returned home from the Free seminar I attended at the Hilton Garden Inn, Carlsbad, California today 01/22/07 so my notes and my memory are fresh.I am a fast writer and I took about 23 pages of notes in one of those black compositon notebooks.

I also asked a lot of questions at the back desk when signing up for the 3 day seminar and I have the paperwork next to me that was handed to me when I signed up for the 3 day seminar that is scheduled for Feburary 15, 16, 17 2007 at the Sheraton San Diego Hotel, Mission Valley.

Our speaker was Randy Crane. I found him to be pleasant and very clear in his presentation. Some of it went a little fast but I still managed to scribble down most of it.

The "Participant Information" form (which is the same form that you sign up for the 3 day seminar)shows a price of $199.00. However, tonight the charge was only $25.00 (per person) to sign up for the 3 day event.

This same form (in small print underneath the main Product Description Box) says "Your investment includes at no additional cost, setup and activation of a website described in "HB Products Unlimited Introduction to the Internet Busines Success" (this instruction form was also handed to me) Monthly hosting fees of $59.95 will automatically be billed by HB Products Unlimited, Inc. to your method of payment below beginning 30 days post acitvation of your site until cancelled. Activation will be immediately following the scheduled 3 day workshop and is governed by the service agreement included in the referend "Introduction to Internet Business Success", receipt of which is hereby acknowledged."

Additionally, there was a seperate piece of paper to sign up for the Merchant application. This was explained that the fees are $25.00/month (locked in for 6 months once it starts) + 1.99% and .25 per transaction.

All of this to be charged to my credit card of which they took an imprint.

I was allowed to take home the merchant form to fill out and fax in later.

This was explained to me by the young gentleman at the back table that my website would be ready approx. 2 weeks. I would have time to use the website and decide if I want to cancel. The charges for the website would start exactly one month after the 3 day seminar on March 17th and that I should cancel by March 16th at the very latest but probably should not wait until the last minute.

In looking at my notes Mr. Crane said the $59.95 would start March 20th. I remember him saying we would have 2 months to use the site. However, when I asked at the back table I was told it would take a week or two to get my site up, so technically I will only have 5 or 6 weeks to take the internet training and try to drive traffic to my site before the 59.95 for website plus 25.00 for merchant account starts being charged to my credit card.

One thing that I am disappointed in is that Randy Crane showed us some of the products supposedly available on our website but when I went to his website (the one ours is suppose to be a copy of) and found that when I clicked on these bargain elecronics it came up that they (iPod, GPS,etc.) are not currently available. It appears there are a limited amount of these products availabe as closeouts? It's first come, first serve. So if everyone has the same products on the website they will be sold out fast. In exploring the website I found that many of the product showed a quantity availble of only 1 or 2.

We were told that our training for how to bring traffic to our website would take place on the internet before the 3 day seminar.

Additionally, Mr. Crane told us that these products are brand new, not reconditioned or used. That may be the case for these products that were already Sold Out, however I did find that some of the other products on the website are reconditioned products (not new).

The products (if you sell any) on the website are drop shipped to your customer. I received a specail voucher tonight, to be redeemed at the end of the 3 day, that is suppose to help you get repeat customers on your website or ebay? or both?

Our paper work has the obligatory 3 day right to cancel the contract printed on the back of the form. Notice must be sent in writing by certified mail. It says it will take 20 days to process my refund if I cancel.

I learned quite a bit at this seminar. I would need to do additonal study, research to make use of it or attend the 3 day workshop (and the advanced training?)

Mr. Crane was very candid about the fact that the free seminar was short and could not cover everything. He also was candid about that fact that someone had once asked if the 3 day seminar was just a sales pitch for the advanced classes. He claims it is not as they would have a lot of very angry participants who would leave within the first 30 minutes. He claims that they teach a lot at the 3 day seminar and that you leave with "preprinted" notes so you don't have to take notes and can just listen at the 3 day and won't miss anything. Based on the information given at the free seminar I believe I would learn a lot for my $25.00 at the three day. I don't think I would have signed up if it was $199.00.

I now must decide if I am going to exercise my 3 day right to cancel or if I will go ahead and access the online training for the product website (once my site is up and I have my login and password) and see if I can make any income with the website and then attend the 3 day to learn about real estate and the stock market.
