For those who claim that this is a legitimate 'business' - honest business does not need to create the reasons to keep client's money! Instead, when client expresses any concerns honest business is doing everything they can to rectify the problem and keep their name clean. These guys are masters of creating miscommunications! They refused to communicated with me in writing because they are liers! Here is the letter to the boss of IMTS.

Re: Request for refund. All appointments to be cancelled.
Dear Donald,
When we were meeting with Alyssa on December 4th, 2008 I told her that we need to take some time evaluate the proposal from IMTS and get back to her at a later time. However, Alyssa, as a skillful salesperson, assured me that there is no reason to postpone the decision and that all my concerns can be addressed right away. Below are my concerns, which I had expressed to Alyssa during our appointment and how Alyssa addressed them.

Concern #1. Sarah is currently wearing braces. Does it make sense to take pictures for the portfolio now, with the braces and crooked teeth, instead of waiting few months until her teeth are straight and then going for the photo shoot?

Alyssa's answer was: Absolutely not! Because she is wearing braces now, while the most of the teenagers are usually wearing them few years later, this will actually give Sarah advantage over other models of her age and increase her chances of getting the paying job with the client! Many times clients are looking for the kids with braces.

Concern #2. What about economic downturn? Doesn't it effect advertising industry and significantly reduce the chances of getting into commercials and other types of paying contracts?

Alyssa's answer was: Not at all! Economic slowdown did not effect advertising industry! As a matter of fact, for example, MACY'S did not reduce it's advertisement budget but instead delivered deeper discounts to the consumer to generate more volume on sales. We work practically around the clock, 24x7!

Concern #3. Are there any additional costs involved besides the price of photo shoot? What about marketing?
Alyssa's answer was: Marketing is included in the price of photo shoot and there are no additional expenses after that.

Concern #4. What are the chances of Sarah getting any paying job?

Alyssa's answer was: We are very successful in promoting our models. Our success rate is 80%.

The weeks since our initial appointment allowed us to speak with some people who were related to the modeling industry in difference capacities and who provided deeper insight into how IMTS and other companies like yours are functioning. It is clear to me that we became victims of the common scam and that interview with Alyssa constitutes consumer fraud, intentional misrepresentation of facts and failure to explain the full picture of what
lies ahead after photo shoot.

Therefore, I would like to propose amicable solution to this situation and kindly request full refund of $1,500.00 charged to our credit card. I think this will be in our common interests. If this seams like an unreasonable request to you, I am afraid I will have no other choice but to use my litigation experience to initiate legal claim against IMTS, you, Alyssa and all of the owners, whoever they might be, for not less that $100,000.00. I already have few families who are eager to join such claim, which will add to the amount of claim and has a potential to make it into class action lawsuit.

I suppose tree (3) weeks from the date of this latter is sufficient time for IMTS to process the refund. If you deem this time as insufficient and you need extention, I strongly urge you to explain your reasons in wiring by way of fax or email, within 1 week. Without any special arrangements for extension appropriate actions will be taken upon expiration of 3 weeks.

It is obvious that under such circumstances Sarah fill not appear at any photo shoot and all her appointments should be cancelled, without rescheduling.

Truly yours,

Sergey

Count me in on a class action lawsuit. I'm sure there are hundreds of thousands of people screwed over like us. My issue is with Kids Talent Network soon to be Model Republic Kids. These guys just keep changing names when the public is on to them it's about time someone stopped them dead in their tracks. They shoudl be forced to repay everyone and stop hiding behind that sorry piece of s**t contract they make everyone sign. Basically, the contract says we will do nothing but keep your money and if you try to fight us we will put it out.
