Avoid buying Alienvibes headphones!

I purchased a set of Alienvibes EP02AT active noise cancelling headphones. The problem was minor, it's Ineo's response or lack thereof that's the issue.

The padding in the right ear cushion of the headphones had flattened out & indented inwards, making them very uncomfortable to wear.

I did everything that Ineo lays out in their warranty policies. First I emailed the support email address, the emailed returned as undeliverable due to invalid address.  I double checked the address to ensure I didn't misspell something & resent the email. It immediately bounced back again.

Next I forwarded the undeliverable notice along with my original email, to Ineo's main support email address. That message went through, but no response. I waited 3 days & emailed them again, still no response.

I then called the company's main NON 877# (meaning their local phone number) as well as their 877#, both numbers are the same line. The phone rang several times until an answering machine picked up. NOT a voicemail or any kind of automated attendant, very obvious it's a cheap home answering machine. I left a message detailing the problem as well as my repeated attempts trying to get support via email. Never got a return call.  I ended up calling 5 times & left 4 messages over the course of a week, never got a return call.

I got so fed up with it, I notified the Attorney General for the state of California, as they handle the licensing & such for businesses located in their state.

The Attorney General's office responded via written letter, stating they had received my complaint & were troubled by it. They further stated they would contact Ineo via written letter, addressing this issue & advise Ineo contact me to resolve this issue. The letter further stated that most of these situations are usually resolved with this action, however if Ineo doesn't respond or doesn't resolve my issue there is nothing more their office can do as they are not permitted to represent individuals & any further action would have to be done with my retaining legal counsel.

This letter was dated 09/25/2013. Ineo still has never returned any of my attempts to contact them, nor have they even acknowledged the letter from the Attorney General's office.

These headphones are around $150 retail, so obviously I wouldn't retain a lawyer over it.

But others need to be warned & advised to steer clear of Alienvibes, Alienvibes USA and/or Ineo Technology Inc..

They are what I am guessing is a Chinese manufacturer, with a leased "office" in California, so they can sell their products in the USA.

Don't just take my word for it, go call the toll free number & listen to the static filled, hollowed (sounds like they are in a trash can) voice of the lady on their answering machine. Honestly I think it's even a tape based answering machine & not even a digital one! Digital answering machines don't have distorted audio issues that tapes do. That & there is no way it's a voicemail system like a reputable company would have.

You've been warned, don't become a victim like me, buy another brand.

Company Made It Right!

AUTHOR: Magestic12 - ()

POSTED: Saturday, January 04, 2014

Although it took almost 5 months & a letter from the Attorney General for the state of California, the company finally contacted me.

They claim Ineo was "transferred" to them, a different company.

I had to pay to ship the defective headphones back (which I didn't think was fair or appropriate) but about 2 weeks later they called me stating the pair I had were white & they didn't have anymore. They asked if they could send me a red pair instead.

Now I have too say, the lady that called me was super nice & accommodating, I also felt it was good customer service too call me & ask rather than just send me something else or a letter saying they didn't have anymore. So I sincerely applaud them for handling it that way, I was very pleased with that.

Although I have this thing about white colored devices, don't ask me why I just like the color for some reason, but I have too say the red ones actually look very stylish & cool.

So in the end, they fixed the issue, were very friendly & accommodating.

I am happy & satisfied.
