Infinite Corporation migrates legacy AS/400 applications to more modern platforms like Linux, Windows, and various versions of UNIX. They also migrate the proprietary data structure and database to more industry standard products like Oracle and MS SQL.

They acquire leads for potential clients via referral or web inquiry. They do not sell to individual consumers, only to business clients, and their process can last from several months to several years. When they are contacted by a prospective client, they are usually referred by another client or employee of a client company. They begin the process of analyzing their code and provide a series of reports that explain how much time and resources will be required to accomplish their goals.

The staff is engaged with clients throughout the entire process because it is critical to the success of the project. These projects go on for months and sometimes years. While the project is active, they are speaking with people on the client side each week and sometimes each day. They have ongoing meetings, many of them are web-based and others are face-to-face. They will travel wherever their clients require.

Infinite Corporation is a software development company. They develop software in a very specific niche and they operate globally. Their software development team is in Buenos Aires with assistance from a few designers in Belfast. The have people in various locations here in the US, Argentina, Spain, Singapore, and the UK. They are a technical firm that consults and performs AS/400 migration projects in languages ranging from COBOL to RPG, CL, and DDS. Their vision is to continue to provide the most comprehensive solution for this marketplace and to continue to expand their customer base.

During the onsite interview, Jon Millar was asked to describe a situation where a customer was not satisfied with the level of service they received “Often projects become more complex as they go along. Software contains many variables, and they sometimes lead to more time and more money. This is frustrating for our teams and the client teams.

Our practices are to stay close to clients and resolve issues as they come up. We work collaboratively to resolve differences about the work product, the billing, or the final deliverables.”

Mr. Millar went on to address the complaints, explaining, “The complaint was from a former employee, not a customer. To that end, we have been very proactive in building a Client Advocacy Program wherein a Client Advocate is assigned to each project. They are there to champion the client in all internal matters here at Infinite. Their metrics are based on client satisfaction. This report made us look at our processes a bit closer. We are completely committed to 100% client satisfaction.”

Their Client Advocates are tasked with working the account managers and project managers to ensure that the client's point of view is expressed in every decision they make during their engagement. The CA will be using their internal CRM and billing systems to make sure that they are on track with customer expectations.

I have seen our senior managers take personal interest in the migration plan, platform and environment selection and interface planning on our projects. Many of our most senior managers have been with the company for over 10 years and have worked on hundreds of AS/400 migrations. These were the people who completed projects for companies like Caterpillar, Daimler-Benz and Bank of America. It always gives me great pleasure to go back to the customer a year after the install and find that the system has exceeded expectations by operating at higher speed with more efficient throughput at lower costs and with greater functionality.”

Infinite Corporation Infinite Technology Group, Infinite Software Crooked employer steals from employees, partners, and the government, Mission Viejo, California

Infinite Corporation goes by several names - Infinite, Infinite Software, Infinite Corporation, and Infinite Technology Group.  It seems we now understand why - this is to throw off and confuse clients and employees.


I started with Infinite at the end of 2008, when they were in a major hiring mode.  They acquired two existing companies, Altos Technology and Roundstone Systems, and explained they were attempting to be the next #1 HP Reseller.  Partners included Hewlett Packard (HP), Oracle, and Red Hat.  Distribution partners were Ingram, Tech Data, and Arrow.

Trouble was noted when customer's orders started getting delayed.  A typical turnaround was 1-2 business days, but around Autumn of 2009 - some customers didn't receive their orders for weeks, or sometimes over a month.  The distributors were putting Infinite on credit hold because their bills weren't being paid.  The estimate was that they owed over a million dollars to one of the partners.  Ultimately, the sales people were directed to ask customers to prepay or send payment directly to the distributors - and we would then have no control over whether or not the customer actually received their order (but Infinite would have their money).

We lost many clients - including large, long-standing relationships that were previously held by Altos and Roundstone.

As for employees, we were not only caught in the middle of client satisfaction issues, but taxes and insurance benefits were erroneously withheld and no action was being taken to resolve it.  I experienced an unexpected and unresolved withholding of almost $2000 in California taxes (I was never subject to owing taxes to CA), plus another $3000 in health insurance.  They never refunded my money and didn't stop the withholding for a month after I requested the correction.

Some employees had funds withheld for their 401K plans for multiple months, but the money never actually made it to their retirement account. 

Other employees were directed to pay for customer activities and events with their personal credit cards, and then had to wait for reimbursement for months - if they were even paid at all.

Eventually, employees started being let go and were not able to claim unemployment.  The unemployment offices informed them that no unemployment withholdings had been received for them.  No records were found that shows these employees have ever worked for Infinite. 

Income taxes that were withheld from our checks were not paid to the government.  No employees received W2s for 2009.

In addition, none of the former employees are able to benefit from COBRA because Infinite claims to have filed bankruptcy and gone out of business.

In December of 2009, all of the employees were indirectly "fired" when no one received a paycheck on 12/15/09.

Currently (August 2010), the Infinite Corporation (www.infinitecorporation.com) and Infinite Software (www.infinitesoftware.com) websites are still active - including false location information.  They are claiming to have worldwide presence across multiple US cities.  In fact, most (if not all) of these locations are cities where former employees had home offices.  This is certainly false advertisement aimed at making prospective customers think they have offices and employees, which they do not.
