I ordered $25.90 worth of items on 2-7-14.  The shipping and handling was a whopping $12.75 for a flat rate shipping box from the USPS.  At any rate, when I clicked submit on their mobile site I was not redirected to a conformation page but was shown the same submit page after several seconds of the website thinking.  I only knew the order went through because my cell phone chimed three times with three emails and three different order numbers for the exact same products.  Needless to say, I only wanted one order for a total of $38.65, not three.

I immediately emailed the customer service department (located in New York) that evening.  On Monday morning I got three emails saying my packages had shipped.  I emailed again to explain the situation and that my first email had not been answered.  I still didn't receive a reply and called customer service on Tuesday and left a message with Kristen.  She called back and told me that when I receive the three packages I would simply need to refuse the two extra packages and send them back.  I asked her if doing that would continue to track those packages because I was concerned that they could simply get the packages back in their warehouse and pretend the never got them.  She assured me that the tracking would continue to work.  It did not.

Now, two weeks later, I got an email saying they were crediting my account $25.90 which is the amount of one of the packages without the shipping of $12.75.  Somehow, they think I should pay their shipping and handling charges for a package I never ordered.  At any rate, I emailed customer service AGAIN to question the refund of only $25.90 and not the total of $77.30.  I got an email from Eric that read only the following; "i apologize but if you have returned this order we have not received it yet."  He didn't address the issue of the shipping and handling at all.  Additionally, the fact that they are not refunding my money until they receive back their products is really not my concern.  In fact, the way the law is written, a package delivered to your home in error can be kept as a gift ... you are not obligated to return it.  So, I feel I have gone above and beyond to return their product that I didn't even order.  In fact, with the amount of time I have spent on this issue, I should charge them a handling fee!

Now, this entire time I had a trouble ticket opened in my name by someone named Maria.  I got an email that was simply a copy of what I sent and a link to follow where I could update as needed.  I have updated that trouble ticket several times and have asked question through that link, but I have never heard a word back from anybody using that method.  So far I have received one phone call from Kristen and the one email from Eric.  I have called or sent email at least a dozen times.

I finally decided enough was enough and have disputed the charges with my bank.  Being a more honest person than the people at inkedshop.com I even told them that they intended to return $25.90 and that I was not entitled to that money if I was going to simply dispute the entire $77.30.  Honestly, I think I should have kept the $25.90 as a fee for all my trouble, but again, I'm the only honest one in this interaction so I couldn't do it.

Wells Fargo has agreed to dispute and credit me the charges even though Kristen mislead me about the ability to track refused packages.  In other words, Well Fargo can't prove that I even returned one of the packages, but the fact that the company has already initiated a partial refund was enough for them to believe that I sent them both back.

Lessons learned:  Don't order from inkedshop.com, at least not through their mobile site because it is glitchy and buggy (as well as full of scripts and pop-ups).  Also, if you refuse a package and write "return to sender" on a USPS flat rate shipment, the tracking WILL NOT continue to function!  Make the company email or send you return address labels with tracking so that you can cover your own a**!
