I started my rebate fiasco on the 1st of April 2006. Sent my forms within the narrow window allowed with all the appropriate papers.

On the 14th of April I recieved there response saying I did not send in the right Verizon bill.

So I e-mailed all the forms several times until they finally admitted they recieved them on the 25th of April.

I talked to a person who identified himself as J.L. and he told me everything looked good and I should be recieving my rebates in 6 to 8 weeks.

Its now the end of August 2006 and Ive heard nothing. They dont return e-mails and there web site for rebates doesnt seem to work anymore.

Im going to report them to BBB and the states attorney office. If anybody knows what else I can do please send a response and let me know.

AUTHOR: Thomas - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Monday, August 28, 2006

What can be done at this point

I wrote to the AG and here is the email that I received from her.

As you may know, OAG has filed a consumer protection law suit against InPhonic. The lawsuit, filed in DC Superior Court, seeks a permanent injunction to stop the company's misleading practices. It also seeks restitution for consumers, civil penalties, costs and fees. Consumers with questions about this action can call the OAG Consumer Protection Hotline at 202-442-9828.

Or, you may fill our the complaint form and mail it to OAG, Consumer and Trade Protection Section, 441 4th Street, NW, Suite 450N, Washington, DC 20001.

Should you wish to fill out the online Consumer Complaint form at www.oag.dc.gov and submit it electronically or print it out and fax it
to us (202) 727-6546, please be aware the Printer Friendly page can only be printed before you select 'Submit', otherwise, if you
submit it first, the data fields will be blank when you return to the form. In other words, please select 'Print' BEFORE you submit the form,

or the typed information will not appear in your document.
