I ordered 2 sets of cell phones (2 different orders) in December of 2004 (also got T-Mobile Family Plan 1000 minutes with it), each supposed to come with a $100 rebate from T-Mobile (so I was to send in 2 forms for a total of $200). They sent me the forms with the phones. They were actually photocopied T-Mobile forms, but after reading the fine print I saw that you had to buy 2 phones directly from a T-Mobile store to be eligible for the rebates. I called Inphonics and they said they would get back to me - ya right!, never did. keep in mind I only had 14 days to cancel service without penalty, and this day was getting close.

I then called T-Mobile and told them about this. I was back and forth to Inphonics and T-Mobile and was finally going to cancel with T-Mobile and they offered me the $200 rebate. I guess I talked to the right guy because the 3 others before him at T-Mobile did not seem to care.

I believe Inphonics (I ordered at the site cellularchoices.net) sent out the T-Mobile forms in the hopes I would not see the fine print. If I had sent them in, the T-Mobile rebate department said they would not have honored them and 14 days would have passed.

Now I am waiting for my Customer Appreciation Rebates and Customer Loyalty Rebates from Inphonics Rebate in White Bear, Minnesota. I will post again in 8-9 weeks when I am supposed to get them. I'm not holding my breath but I am ready to sue if need be.

One other side note, when I ordered the phones they signed me up for a different area or city code - not to the one they were sending shipment to. They also added some extra stuff like text messaging and other minor aspects of the plan. I changed these with T-Mobile and asked Inphonics if this would adversely affect my rebates. They assured me, "No, no and if you have problems the rebate people will work with you." I am wondering about this because I recently read some language on their website that they will not honor rebates if account info is changed. Although, it did not say anything like this on the rebate form. Hmmm.... we shall see.

I am going to file complaints with BBB and Attorney General on this first rebate fiasco and will keep you posted on my progress.

Don't buy from these guys! If you do write down stuff or record phone converations if legal in your state. And if they've ripped you off make sure you guys file complaints and bug the hell out of them!

Inphonics Cellular Choices, Wirefly Rebate

AUTHOR: J - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Wednesday, October 19, 2005

I actually got all the rebate checks I sent in. They all came together. And it was about 10 weeks later as it said on the rebate forms. After reading all the horror stories with their rebates I was surprised. I actually had only 2 days left (to send them in) before their deadline postmark, but it worked. When I sent them in I made sure to follow the directions and sent them by registered mail. I do not know if that made a difference. Anyway, I deposited them and am assuming they will clear. If not I will post back.
