On June 6-02 I received an email from Duckman@hotmail.com with regards to "Internet Business Opportunity." My wife & I are retired and have been looking for a home business (my wife has M.S.) I went to web site "Instant marketing Empires" which says "How to get 5 money making web sites in the next 20 minutes." cost $49.95U.S./$76.99CDN.

I printed off all the material from this web site I read it all and discussed it with my wife we were impressed. I went back to the site and filled out the application and charged the amount above to my mastercard. After completing the designated areas of the application, I was instructed to download videos of which there were 5 to download. I clicked on the #1 download and I kept getting "web site not responding" I tried several times with no success.

I left the site in frustration "something that was to take 20 minutes, caused me nothing but a big headache." I was not given an access number/or id #/or code# so i could get back in to the site without going through the application again, and getting double charged.

This site offered no business address-phone#-or e-mail support centre to contact????? At this point they have my credit card # and I have no product. I have contacted my credit card company, and they have flagged the this charge when it comes through (at present they have not charged my credit card).

I sent an e-mail to the person who originally sent it ot me (duckman1@hotmail.com) I received mailer-daemon back saying "account inactive". Also I sent an e-mail to rkingfp@aol.com who had also been sent the same invitation, however, to date I have not received a reply back, my final effort was to try the wed site from the hard copies I had printed off-www.optintde.com to my surprise my screen was filled with xxx rated porno sites??? I went back to web site - http://www.optintde.com/e/moneynow/confirmed/page1.htm this is where I was to download the videos? still getting"website not responding" this has to be a real scam, could you please investigate and advise me what other actions I could take. Thank you for your assistance

Since my first report of the above company - I contacted my credit card company and a charge was put through by this company on June 7-2002 - in the amount of $78.08U.S. - oringinal cost was $49.95 CDN. (conversion comes to $78.08 CDN) the credit card company has given me a temporary credit, as they are investigating this company. Since my report - I received another e-mail invitation from fastcash@jpmailer.com - they where offering the same product for $39.77???.

On June 14-2002 - received a phone call from (I-works - phone number 1-888-814-0634 -EXT. 342 - contactis one Mr. Cameron Montgomery. I read him the Rip-Off report I had sent to you - the above individual became very "RUDE."

He said that the reason I could not download the downloads - 5 of them - was because I was on AOL????). I said I did not want anything to do with their company, and please credit my credit card in the amount of $78.08.

He said that he did not want to do business with a person like me, and he would send me an e-mail right away with a link to go to get my money back - at this time no e-mail has been received. When I spoke to the above person - the noise in the background sounded like he was in a boiler room atmosphere - or telemarketing centre??? - as previous i still require your assistance in this matter, and others should be warned about this company, and their practices.

Thank you in advance for any assistance you can offer.

#2 Consumer Suggestion

Check/close your credit card account

AUTHOR: anti - ()

Because it is possible they only wanted to get your card number, it would be wise to check your card very often in the next days/weeks. If there is any OTHER unfamiliar charge, immediately CLOSE your credit card account, request another!!!

I would recommend you to fill report/complain with the Federal Trade Comission www.ftc.gov - (you can find many advices how to avoid similar scams on :www.ftc.gov/bcp/menu-internet.htm)

and to report them to the SpamCops: scamcop.net

Ask your bank WHO/what company tried to debit your card.

DO NOT GO again to those sites, it could be a hacker site, infesting your computer.

AVOID ALL sites/offer without phone, address. There is no way to catch a company through a sole e-mail address.
