Please take my advice and AVOID this company at all cost.

I went into Instant Tax Service on Tuesday, Jan. 18, 2011 to see about getting my taxes done because I saw their commercial on tv and I needed my money ASAP. I asked the lady that came to the front what their fees were and she said they hav a flat fee of $200 and the fee for a RAL varied based on your return.

Well I agreed to go ahead with the service but for some reason I had a strange feeling just from seeing the interaction between the employees, but I ignored it because I needed my money. When the lady started doing my taxes she acted as though she couldnt see and asked me to read off my w-2.

When she was done entering my information in she said you get around $1000 refund and I said thats it? She said oh when Nicole looks over it, it'll go up.so she called her "manager" over and she hit some buttons and said your refund is around $4600. That sounded right so I said ok.

The lady doing my taxes (Wanda) then said you owe about $60 to the IRS for your state return and I said how? She said because they didn't take any taxes on you for state. I had to point out to her on my w-2 where the taxes were taken out then she reentered it and said I get a state refund. That was another red flag that I ignored.

After that she left because she had to go get her son so the "manager" Nicole said wait a few minutes because there was only one person who knew how to use "tax tree" which was the program used fir the RAL. well then she "remembered" that the only guy I the office knew the program as well so he started entering my information.

He put everything in but he couldn't get the insight prepaid card to activate. Which I DID NOT want by the way but I was told that if I wanted a rapid refund I had to get it on the card because if I wanted my return deposited into MY OWN ACCOUNT that I would automatically have to wait 8-15 days.

Well he never got the card working so I had to move to the third desk and let the THIRD person finish my return. When the last lady finally got the prepaid card working. I was signing the paper work and got to the last page with the fees, I stopped. It said my refund amount was $4119.

I said how did I go from $4680 to $4119? Tanzania then said oh don't worry about those fees their inaccurate just sign the paperwork. Well when she saw that I wasn't signing she called the "manager" Nicole over because she couldn't explain the fees to me.

They were basically charging me $568 to receive my refund in 12-48 hours. When Nicole came over I had already added the fees on my own and I said why does one fee say one thing but y'all are telling me that I'm only paying $387. I said that's not true because my refund went from $4680 something to $4119?

When she couldn't lie her way out of it she said oh you're right. I'm gonna use this coupon and take $100 off for you but thats the most it'll allow me to take off. Me being desperate for my money I agreed to pay $468 to receive my money in 2 days.

Long story short its been 2 days of unanswered questions, avoidance, and lies. I went into the office today Jan. 20, and was told at around 4 pm there was still a possibility that I could receive my money later. After being in the office for 2 hours I told them I had to go. I was told that I would receive a call before they close at 7 that evening.

By 6:30 when no one had returned my call, I called them. It was at that time that Tanzania said I was "denied" for the 48 hour loan and would receive my money on the 28th of Jan. From the IRS.

This company has got to be stopped. If you google their name nothing but bad reports come up. It's like their a cult. They know people need money so of course they're gonna try to get it back fast when I all actuality I don't even think they try to get people a RAL but they know that once you sign for them to do your taxes they are guaranteed to get their "flat rate fee" because you can't cancel.

I don't know what kind of scam they are running but they are definitely doing something wrong because it's people from all over the country saying the same things about this business.

I plan to complain to the IRS, BBB, and I'm definitely looking into a CLASS ACTION SUIT because they need to be stopped. Please spread the word and don't let anyone use this company anymore.
