This is a total scam and rip off. They ask for $9 ($12 w/$3 discount) for you to enter a skill contest by answering a simple 2nd grade level math question. This will "confirm your entry record and nomination to pay to win the Grand Prize Check Payment due as a Cash Award to the Winner in the amount of $15,000). Maximum cost to compete for Grand Prize is $20 plus up to two Tiebreaker handling charges of $5 each plus US first class postage to return 4 reply cards.  Estimated number of contestants - 100,000.  85% are expected to correctly answer the qulification question and receive up to 4 successive tiebreakers.  One Grand Prize is awarded and could be shared with other contestants.  At 3 later points in the contest you may be given up to 3 opportunities to compete for optional bonus cash prizes. Bonus Cash Fees range from $10 to $45".

Someone needs to stop this stuff from going in the mail.  I know the USPS is hurting for money - therefore I guess they are not very strict about what they allow to go out in the mail.

If you get this garbarge in the mail - throw it away.  I only read it because my 89 year old father got it and was convinced he had won some money.  They prey on the elderly and should be stopped.

but, you can't really blame the USPS.  They don't open and read first class mail....would you want them to?

If you feel this is in violation of their rules, bring it to the attention of the postmaster.

Provide them with copies of what you were sent.   You may be able to help others.
