Website says International Bodyguard Network is a sister company of Samurai Incorporated out of Las Vegas NV. The State of NV has never heard of these guys. Another Company that the website says is a totally seperate entity Omni Institute is actually owned by the same individual Jack Bucklin, this company is incorportated in NV but was not incorporated when the web-site states it was.
This group of individuals have listed many DBA's for Samurai probably trying to hide the fact that they are taking your money and running. I have not personally lost money with this company this information is just based on the research I have done.
The BBB has tried to conatact Mr. Mack Harper From IBN and he gave them this response.
On January 21, 2009, BBB requested IBN's voluntary cooperation in providing BBB with background information on the firm in order to assist BBB in creating a Reliability Report
BBB Definition:
Report - A summary of activity reflected in a company's BBB file. Includes basic business background, BBB Accreditation information, and BBB complaint activity over the previous three years. Also reports may include any known government actions, advertising issues BBB Definition:
advertising issues - Claims alleging print or electronic media advertised claims or practices misrepresent the service or product offer.
or other information that results from activity conducted by BBB.
.
On January 29, 2009, Mack Harper from International Bodyguard Network replied: "Philosophically, and this is personal, I do not care to provide information to any organization concerning any of the companies I am associated with, and your intent to compile a report concerning us is not appreciated."
These remarks do not sound like someone operating a legitimate business.

Good Course & Legit Company

I can attest to my personal experience with these companies. Years ago (actually in 2003) I took a course through OMNI Institute on "Theory of Non-confrontational Protection" and was presented the Certificate of Protection Theory. Subsequently, I received a certification from the IBN recognizing me as a member in good standing. The coursework was phenomenal. In addition to the coursework, upon successful completion I received my dossier with business cards, stationary templates and marketing materials. My website was up and running as well. I was pleased with the course and organizations. You can go to internationalbodyguardnetwork.com and under their Directory you will still find me under Michigan, Jason R. I was not notified about the change in ownership/management and my original URL is down but I will be contacting them to have my profile updated and my URL back up and live. I will still state this this course was worth every penny! I personally do not feel that anybody should take a course if he/she has no background for this type of work but rather to take it for the credentials and for the networking & possible job opportunities. Even for veterans with combat experience, I would personally highly recommend this course. I am by no means a novice in any respect. I stumbled across this posting and I normally do not even post replies about anything whether it's personal or business related. However, I did not want the masses misinformed. I recommend this course and this is from my own experience...Best of Luck to anybody entering this profession and with all of your future endeavors.

Craig, First of all the training you receive is not a DVD. Your listening skills are lacking... You receive a CD based on bodyguard protocol. Everything you need to know to work a low risk assignment. Our company would not send someone out on a high risk assignment unless they were qualified to do so. Most military personnel are suited for such assignments. They learn those skills elsewhere. Or individuals that graduated from a bodyguard training facility. We have clients that just need escorts to and from or want to hire bodyguards for special events.... they are not considered high risk and our training is sufficient enough for those types of jobs. Just to let everyone know. International Bodyguard network is no longer ran by Jack Bucklin.

Ha.... you've got to be kidding me. I just got out of the Army, did about 6 years in the infantry including work as part of a personal security detachment for brigade level leadership so I thought that the private security sector would be an easy switch.
Then I talked to the lady over the phone and when she said " you pay a fee and we send you training videos with which you will certify", it seemed really strange to me. I'm sorry but if I'm a team leader for the person for which security is provided I want a more qualified person than someone who is trained via DVD.
Is IBN a scam??? I have no idea although at the very least they maintain bad work practices. TO OWNER: If you'd like to establish a workable method with which to train your workers let me know, but until you establish something else, I'm not working for you and neither will any one in the military community that actually carried a rifle in a combat situation.
To the vet that mistakenly recieved that email.... I would take that email to the newspapers and media..... noone like a business that insults those that serve the nation.

First of all "Donatella"...; If it took you a year and a half to get a website put up then its because it took you that long to finish your 9 page membership paperwork and finish your training. Websites take no longer than 10 days to post... If I have to build it or with in a few days if you build one. I don't have anyone in our data base that has that name that has actually completed everything. If you give your real name and "do" have a website up... I will gladly remove it from our website as well as the IBN's. try and respond quicker than the time you took completing your paperwork... By the way... get your facts straight... Kim is my sister not sister in law. We are a family ran business. If you cant get those details straight then mabe working as a bodyguard is not for you... BG's need good observation and good listening skills.. you don't have neither...If you have been contacted by any clients and still have not gone to work yet... then maybe they also see you are lacking in these skills as well.

Lillian look at the date this was submitte it took you almost a year to reply to it and this is the exact same way you handle your business, I did complete your trainning and I did send you the certificate and for a couple of months you answered my calls and then Kim stepped in and I never got to talk to you and you never returned my phone calls so I learned my lesson don't spend money with people like you.

Number 8 whoever you are When you do a business and you state that you are incorporated under Samarai Warrior in the state of Nevada and they have never heard of you. The word incorporated does not mean DBA. Also when you state that the two business are not related and then you find out the same person owns both of them and one offers trainning for the other I think that makes them related.
Learn what your talking about its not about a DBA

Ok I have paid money to these people well over a year ago, it took them that long to get a website for me, as for Protection services they are a joke, Lillian ever returns a call she has Kim running block for her, when I started this venture there was another lady there that got let go. Kim is Lillians sister in law or something like that.
As for the gentleman who made the stupid comment about DBA's I don't know where you live but where I live if you have a DBA it is also filed with the state, and as for the BBB yes they are not a government entity but if you want to build a credit report for your business you use them or you use D&B.
This company is a ripp off, I know of at least 4 other people that have contacted me about this company with the same problem.
So if you think you can get into this field through IBN or Protection service thin again spend the money and go to ESI, and before you ask no I did not go to ESI they are just the best school to attend I just didn't have the money.
Oh and by the way when I started this IBN said they would actively seek employment for you and now they do not they jost post you and thats it.
Enjoy the IBN

Thats who you paid...correct??? Call and lets find out exactly where you stand with your paperwork and see what else has to be done in order for you to go to work. 615-228-1750.

You state that you never lost any money from this organization... It is truly unfair that you would classify them as a scam company.. Have you checked out how much it would cost you to have someone build you a website..it can cost up to $1000 or more and their offer to charge $355 for that service is quite generous. The BBB is a privately owned company.. it is not a government entity what so ever... Why should anyone provide private information about companies they do businesses with.. it is not the law that everyone must share all business practices with the BBB. if that was the case... our government would be in a lot of trouble... The BBB also has a reputation for printing false information and I know this from personal experience.. even though you send them documentaion of the correct information They still refuse to change it because you dont pay their annual membership fe.. Now that sounds like a scam organization to me... Is it against the law to own and operate more than one business at a time...NO!!! What is your point. In many places on the internet it state that i have numerous DBA names... Am I a scam...NO... It is obvious that people reporting information about my company do not even know the correct name of the Business. Is that my fault... NO... what I suggest... don't run down a company until you know all the facts and it is clear that you DO NOT!!!

Hi Ashley: This is a company that tells you they don't charge you anything then say you need certain training which cost you over $200 dollars. Then after that they tell you you need to get a website, you can use them at a cost of $355 or you can have someone else do it. The only way to contact this company is via e-mail. They do have a phone number but then again the phone number tells you to e-mail them. If you get a response you will be lucky. Like I said before I am just trying to Keep others from being dupped by these folks.
I don't know you, but if I just saved you from making a $500 mistake I think you would be happy.

You haven't actually been ripped off by these people? So you have no idea if they are actually a scam or not? You just have your suspicion based off of them not responding to the BBB.
I'm still not sure I see the point. Do you know someone who has been scammed by them? Can you relate what they do to scam people?
