Mel Reeve wanted $30 to have me enter the Japanese Jumbo Lottery for an incredible number of chances to win a gazillion dollars. I was shocked to learn that there is no way to check out such offers and the reason these mail pieces exist in the first place is that a number of people send in $20 or $30 buck from time to time so these hucksters can get more printer ink and target more people hopeful to win big, perhaps after being down on their luck. They prey on trusting, naive, or desperate people. Too bad they are allowed to use the US mail service. They make Publishers Clearing House look like saints.
