A dispatcher from Interstate Transport called after business hours begging us to book a load to pick up after another driver fell off of it.  He told us that we had until 11 pm to pick it up because they were a 24 shipper.  We got a driver to leave his home and pick it up and the next morning, the same Interstate's dispatcher began to complain that the load was picked up after 4 pm and was a late pick.  We reminded him that the load wasn't scheduled until after 5 pm and the driver was at home and over 70 miles away from the pick.  At this point, we were sure this was a bad load and informed our driver to return it to the shipper.

Interstate pleaded with us to deliver the load, so we did contingent they gave us a new confirmation sheet stating that it was an open pick and we made them reschedule the delivery to ensure the driver had enough time to drop it.  They faxed over a revised confirmation sheet so we delivered the load as agreed.  As soon as the load was delivered, Interstate faxes over the original confirmation with all kinds of fees and fines stating that the load was picked up late and charging us for rescheduling the delivery appointment time.

These guys will cheat you and do not honor their word.  Don't mess with them!!!  I am almost possible that if they are cheating carriers they will cheat their drivers too.

Interstate Transport Does Not Rip Off Carriers

AUTHOR: Interstate Transport, Inc - (United States of America)

POSTED: Friday, July 22, 2011

In response to the complaint filed by Divinity Transportation, LLC, and according to our records, the original pickup was scheduled for 7/5/2011 at 4:00 pm. That pickup time could not have been met as Divinity was dispatched at 5:31 pm that evening, since the driver was 70 miles away from the pickup, it was figured that he should arrive no later than 8:00 pm. Our records indicate, and Darlene at the shipper can confirm, Divinitys driver did not arrive to the pickup location until 11:36 pm. This is more than a half-hour past the time Divinity states in its complaint that it was to pick up the freight. Regardless of which pickup time Divinity claims is correct (8:00 or its admitted 11:00), Divinity arrived late; resulting in a $50.00 late pickup fee.

Because of the updated pickup time and the necessary duration of the loading, the driver did not leave the pickup facility until 2:00 am on July 6 which made it necessary to re-schedule the delivery appointment.  Upon review, our dispatcher should not have charged a reschedule or one-day late fee as the specific circumstances of this load show such charges to be inequitable. Therefore, there is a balance due to Divinity and they have agreed to the settlement amount. We will remit this final balance due to Divinity.
