I had a brief stint there and am confirming that Intuit ICON Go Payment Credit Card Processing Center in Woodland Hills, CA DOES PROFILE ITS' MERCHANTS AND ITS' MERCHANT'S CUSTOMERS with this scary subjective use of ambiguous "judgement calls" based on, well - the "opinion" aka. BIAS of whatever random blood curdling presence ends up looking at the flagged account.  These accounts are flagged by an outsourced system.

For starters, I had to pass a background check in order to get the job there.  Why?  I don't know, the staff was nepotistic and sketchy already.

Next.  I had worked with banks and brokerages in the past and we were not only required to study the laws regarding banking and money, we were also sitting in classrooms listening to very thorough presentations on the Patriot Act.  And workplace harrassment (to protect the company, of course!  But most firms with a legit HR department will do a real presentation on legal matters regarding workplace policies and money).

This is typical behavior of most financial firms because liabilities are bad for business and they are trying to protect themselves.  And when you don't see them putting a big priority on awareness of these matters, I will assure you that something is wrong with that firm.

Intuit CC processing center NEVER once gave me any reference to any law that might affect any kind of money movement, even though we were instructed to investigate flagged accounts for "suspicious" activity to protect Intuit CC Processing center from either liabiliites or a bad reputation.

My manager told me that Intuit CC Processing company was sued before for something that was the responsibility of either merchants or the customers.  But this was an odd statement given to me by a manager who provided no reference point to legalities regarding anything that could make an account suspicious, including immigration/Visa laws, Money laundering laws, the Patriot Act, FDA list of banned substances, etc.

So she said that the held fees were to protect ICON Intuit CC Processing center from legal suits.  I asked about "Chargebacks" (where the customers have to go to the banks to petition to get their money back and the merchant was stiffed entirely based on subjective motives of the employees at the credit card processing department).

All I was told was that "any consumed product like alcohol or tobacco purchase has to be done with a face to face transaction and the card must be swiped, not keyed in".   That's really about it.  And that "it's in the fine print".

The manager also hated my questions about "gray areas".  She accused me of trying to see everything in black and white- but when people are holding YOUR earned revenue, they NEED to have a good "black and white" reason.

The abject reasoning that justified holding a merchant's funds was, (I'm being serious) the two words:

              "I" and "THINK...."

OR aka.  "I THINK".

This could mean, "I think this guy is wierd" or "I think that this Kava is an illegal substance" (without being confirmed by the FDA's laws).

So I watched as the girl blocked funds for several merchants, only sending correspondence via. e-mail to a few who she THOUGHT "deserved" the correspondence.

We read very professionally written letters by small business owners without typical American names requesting that the funds be released so he can pay his employees or that he would be forced to sue.  I think she put it in the "forgetaboutit" pile .

I wasn't shown a method for follow up procedures.

THEN!

This is where I LOST my job there.

A car rental in SoCal as a typical business practice holds steep deposits on expensive rentals on credit cards, then returns the money back to his customer once the car was returned.

Who put down that high deposition on a major company credit card?  An ASIAN!

According to the I'm assuming to be Aryan from Simi Valley who trained me -

She said: "the only Asians with money are gangstas"  and she decided that he was laundering money .

Even after I confirmed with her that the guy renting the car had a non-asian or a non-foreign name! (yes I did inform her that she was rude.  and racist. It didn't matter if the Asian run company was based out of the U.S., did business with American banks, hired Americans---no no no! It didn't matter that they were actually purchasing a car rental and not smuggling money. She decided in her sick head that he was laundering money!

THe rep on the phone was actually very level headed about it.  Unfortunately that rep had to confer with the idiot who was trianing me.  Another coworker of a non-white dna make up very nicely and assertively did a good job of explalining why there is so much foreign consumers in Los Angeles (it's a world wide tourist destination.  You'd assume that a girl born and raised near Los Angeles would know that.  She did, she conciously CHOSE to ignore him!)

This turkey was also related to the Sr. head of the risk and compliance department who was guilty of, well nothing ever!

But I felt very uncomfortable after she had said these things so I didn't talk to her.  I was canned the next day for "trying to do things my own way" and for "not trying to be part of the team".

Oh by the way, I'm not wholly caucasian.

Today I filed a discrimination complaint with EEOC about them.  I need at least unemployment to be honored.

My recruiter knows this, they don't know what to do.  I hope that I am being paid- since I had to wait for the background check to come through, I am very short on money as I needed a lifeline to eat and pay rent with.

But anyways.  I've seen it.  I've seen the buyside approach the CFTC regarding uncollatearlized "collateralized" debt obligations and the CFTC not picking up the phone.

I've seen people make interesting moves with their money during major events.

I've seen people "borrow" or EMBEZZLE money from the company's cash flow.

To cover their behinds, they fire the little guys and toss the blame on the little people.

Why do they do this?  BECAUSE THEY CAN.

I'm really under the suspicion that the workforce that resembles political theatrics is involved with profiling but I don't know what the intentions are.  To control people.  With money.  Or to act maliciously against people you are not used to.

But this isn't the first time credit card processing firms were accused of RACISM.

I hope this helps people get their due funds plus interest back.

Thank you.
