The question to start is "When is a ripoff a ripoff"
In this case we are dealing with a long time "refutable" manufacturer and seller of computer software that is designed to protect & tune up computers. I have used it for many years with success that I truly appreciated. I have, in the past required technical assistance from this company. I have been left without assistance until finally giving up and settling with sub par performance. We will not dell on that as it is "past history".

Recently, I purchased the software"System Mechanic Professional". I purchased the CD rather than downloading it via the Internet so that I would have a "hard copy" if my computer crashed. I could use the CD rather than "fighting" with iolo Technowlogies for a renewal (Been There / Done That).Here's the deal. I will let the reader decide if this is a "ripoff".

After downloading the software, I noticed that every time I booted the computer, a system check would start if I did not "hit any key" within a few seconds. Well, over the next few weeks, I  hit"any" key so many times (trying many keys) with no results that I finally E-Mail "customer care" at iolo asking for assistance. NOW let me state here that once the scan of my computer started, it took approx. 3-4 minutes to complete. This is when a "user" is busy doing what he booted for !!

My first E-Mail went unanswered.My second E-Mail was replied to and their reply basically told me that "We are experiencing an unusually high number of customer calls. We will get to your concern a.s.a.p." Well I am retired so I have lots of time.....but I do not like to be ignored. I waited 3 day and sent another E-Mail.
Received a reply in 2 days. Said that iolo would look into concern. I had to follow up 3 more times, and each/every time, iolo stated that they were still working on "your problem".

Today is one month of frustration as the problem persists.All I want to do is turn the problem off. I do not want see my computer busy doing what iolowants it to do when I have things in mind that I need to do.
Now the funny thing is is that I downloaded this software on 3 of my computers. Only 1 is affected.

IS THIS A RIPOFF?.....................You judge.
