My boyfriend and i had just came back from Cancun last year and loved it. We were already planning to go back when i received a fax at work in late April about a discounted trip to Cancun Mexico.

I then called these people up and was told that i can purchase an all inclusive trip with an upgraded room for $340pp. I was also told that i can only purchase this vacation with a Visa or Mastercard. At the time i only had a Discover card. I told them i would call them back when i had a Visa or Mastercard accesible to me.

The calls from them would not stop coming! One of the managers from IRR kept calling to tell me if i purchased the package that day i would receive $100 off which brought the total to $580 for 2 people. I couldnt resist the price so i used a family members mastercard to purchase the trip. i asked questions (that were being recorded) i asked if i was going to be able to choose my own hotel and if there was any timeshare meetings associated with this. I was assured there wasnt and that i would be able to pick any hotel i wanted from there website and i would even get an upgraded room. The only thing i was told to pay were hotel taxes and airfare.

one week after i purchased the vacation they send me a receipt via email to sign off on, (which i still have) the receipt stated that it was an all inclusive cancun vacation at the SOLYMAR hotel and that the cardholders name was mine, but it clearly wasnt because i used a family members credit card.

Anyway, so the time comes for me to use this "great" vacation. first a rep tells me i have to pay $300 to extend it for 6 months, then they tell me i have to pay $200 because i want to travel during "peak season" fine, then they send me a list of what hotels they had available. Out of the 15 hotels on their site they only had 3 available which i found to be ridiculous and not to mention they were probably the most disgusting hotels in Cancun.

To top it off, 1 out of the 3 was considered an "upgrade" and i had to pay an extra $100 of i wanted to stay there. I sent the rep an email explaining that the hotels were horrible and i wanted the hotel that was noted on my receipt and if i wasnt to use the package was i able to get some of my money back. She ignored my questions and wrote me saying thats all they had available and i can purchase a $300 6 month extension. extension for what? to stay at a nasty hotel at a later month? No Thank you!!

If anyone found a way to get their money back please let me know!
