ISCS Corporation FKA Receiver Corporation ripoff Charges $450 on bogus training under pretense of a job offer Chicago Illinois

I was called for an interview at "ISCS Corporation" roughly in early November. The woman on the phone was named LaShonda and she could not really tell me what position I was interviewing for. My resume was on Monster.com and they pulled it. I went to the interview at 30 S. Wacker and in the lobby were 15 people or so, all with nametags for ISCS.

Eventually a Joseph Rupert (goes by "Mr. Rupert" a lot) came down and introduced himself and shook each of our hands and then we went up to 22nd flr and had an orientation session that lasted about an hour. Joseph Rupert apologized for the group interview but explained that they get thousands of resumes and this was their process.

I filled out an application and took a series of "personality assessments" followed by answering some questions about my career background and goals. They said they were going to review the resumes, tests, answers, etc... and get back to us in three weeks. I didn't expect a call back but did eventually get one on November 21st and went in for an "interview" on Friday the 22nd.

At the interview I was told to ask for Glenn Smith. I went into a conference room and waited for Glenn for a bit. When he came he took me to his office. This is a shared office space with over 50 small individual offices used for very small companies. We went to his office and he said that they were impressed with my background. (My background is in recruiting).

He said that he did not have any recruiting positions available but that I would be a good candidate for an "IT Support Manager" position. Frankly, I'm not really qualified for this position, I thought, but I'll listen. He said they have excellent benefits, tuition reimbursment, training, etc... Morgan Stanley supposedly recruited from their company, he said. They said they have a network intrusion software similar to a firewall and that their clients are manufacturing companies in the suburbs.

Glenn Smith then told me that the training will include 4 weeks of training from home in PowerPoint, WebSite Development and Management. This is a four week course which costs the company $750. We will get paid $14 during training, he says, once we complete it. Also, my salary was to be between 52k and 71k + very lucrative bonuses. Glen told me that he was going to make 78k that year. He said I should get more because I have a Masters degree.

After I complete the training, I am to meet with Larry who is the HR manager. I can negociate salary with Larry and Larry will start his negociations at 52k. Glenn said I should get between 57-60k and bring home between 80-90k for the year + MBA school and benefits and all this. Now, as a committment, I need to pay $450 of this training which is refundable after completion. This way, they say, I don't start their training and then not finish - costing them $750.

I didn't buy it, luckily. Something was too fishy and I smelled a rat, although I didn't quite know it at the time. I've done research on this company and have discovered that ISCS Corporation is the same thing as Receiver Corporation. Receiver Corporation was working out of the Rosemont / O'Hare area a few months ago. Now they are down at 30 S. Wacker 22nd flr. Glenn Smith and Joseph Rupert are still there. As I said there "Admin Assistant" is named Lashonda. I have no idea if these are their real names. I would guess they aren't.

DON'T PAY THIS COMPANY ANY MONEY!!! I have been in touch with 3 people already who were taken for $450. This is not a real company. I am trying to work with the Attorney General's office to get this company shut down. They are a bunch of bastards feeding off of people's dreams and a poor labor market.
