IF YOU DON'T LIKE SNAKES THEN DON'T MOVE HERE! An over population of snakes and bugs. DON'T WASTE YOUR TIME! The condo association and owners think its the white house living here!  At least they lead onto this misgiving information. This Place is an overpriced glorified apartment dump!  Stay away! OVERPRICED! Noise - Cockroaches - CRIME - Ghost ants and termites because of the wood buildings - MOLD in the buildings - Hazardous to anyone with heart and lung diseases, children, elderly etc. If you even put food on the counter here come the bugs. I've had major spider bites and huge snakes scuffle around my door. Found out from the maintenance guy that most of the building have overgrown mold and that these condos have been here for OVER 30 years! My doctor said that I became asthmatic from when I had an allergic reaction to the mold in my unit. 16 other tenants have told me they have the same MAJOR problem! There have been numerous complaints and nothing is ever rectified. OH and the ELECTRIC bill is OUTRAGEOUS! don't get captured by the all-inclusive but electric SCAM! Of course they will pay for everything else but remember you are paying for it in rent, ELECTRIC, bugs, snakes, mold, criminal mischief, noisy neighbors, domestic violence situations, junky cars, vans, boats sitting in parking spots for a year. Dog poop everywhere. Don't let some of the remodeling's FOOL YOU! It covers up the mold and the pests in the walls! No management. They put someone in the management office that is paid by the building owner that does absolutely nothing! If you have a complaint they will do nothing. If you have a maintenance issue don't expect any calls back soon! The HOA puts all the money in the landscaping so it looks good on the outside and then you pay for it by living in a dump nightmare. All my neighbors in my building and other buildings have the same complaints and nothing is done by the association or your condo owner. DON'T BE FOOLED OR SCAMMED. Cancel or skip that appointment to meet with the realtor or the owner because it WILL BE A WASTE OF YOUR TIME! MOVE-on to the next apartment complex ad that you've seen on the internet. SKIP ITOPIA COMMUNITY if you don't want stress in your life from your living situation.
 
It is not an easy commute too and from where you are going because Gandy Blvd is a NIGHTMARE! Try it out and see!
 
 
If the price of a 1 bedroom is more then $700 all-inclusive but ELECTRIC, then you are paying way too much!!! Look at a 2 bedroom and if they are charging rent for more then $900 all-inclusive but ELECTRIC, then you are crazy and desperate to pay this rent for what you get!!! Especially the NASTY ENVIRONMENT IN YOUR APARTMENT THAT LURKS BEHIND THE WALLS MOLD - MOLD - MOLD!!!!!
 
There is NO LAUNDRY FACILITY on site so if you can't afford a washer and dryer you are SOL! And there is no close Laundromats!
There has been recent management terminations because of embezzling money - That shows you the type of people that lurk here!
 
 
I've seen DRUG DEALERS hanging around and my 6 year old saw him punch a man in the parking lot!!!!! There have been several incidences of CRACK h*o's walking around asking for money and promising favors.......
 
The police have been here at least AVERAGE OF 3 times a week since I had moved in almost one year ago.
 
OH AND DON'T COUNT ON THE RETURN OF YOUR SECURITY DEPOSIT!!!!!!
I'm trying to get my security deposit back and move into my newly leased condo but the OWNER says that I had caused the mold in the bathroom by not disclosing this information to maintenance or to him. SEE HOW THEY CAN BLAME THEIR DILAPITATED APARTMENT/CONDO MOLD ON YOU AS A RENTER. I HAVE TO FILE A LAWSUIT IN COURT TO FIGHT MY BATTLE. IT IS GOING TO COST ME OVER $500 JUST TO FILE THE PAPERWORK IN COURT! Nothing like more stress even when you are moving out! AND GUESS WHAT? I found out that this is the story most owners of the condos use so that they get your security deposit in the end because they know most people don't have an extra $500 or more to use on COURT COSTS! NICE HUH! How's that for a SCAM in Itopia?

*NO PRIVACY - The walls are so thin you can hear your neighbors every word! If you live on the 1st floor then be ready for LOTS OF FOOT NOISE even if they are trying to be quiet. The floors are paper thin!
*Once you sign a lease you can expect the owner or realtor to forget about you as a renter.
*Maintenance especially, will ignore your requests and problems. You can leave 20 messages so you better run him down whenever you see him on the property.
*Many COMPLAINTS ABOUT THIS PLACE!!!!!!
*Don't fall for the DEALS!!!! You get nothing but stress and frustration once you move-in
*TRAFFIC - In & Out is a NIGHTMARE!!!! Only one way in and if your on the other side of Gandy Blvd, just try to get across in traffic which is heavy most of the time

*All units are owned by individual owners so it's harder to get any problems resolved!

*Overpopulated SNAKES, Termites, Spiders, ants and ESPECIALLY COCKROACHES!
*WARPED apartments! HEALTH HAZARD!
*MOLD - MOLD - MOLD If you have asthma or allergies this is not a safe place for you, the elderly or your children!
I know a person who fell through their wooded porch flooring on the 2nd floor because of the termites eating away at the wood.

There are so many other apartments or condos to live STRESS FREE IN!!!!!

So if your looking on Craigslist you will notice they don't even post for Itopia Community very often because they have private realtors getting them renters. They don't want all the COMPLAINTS exposed on the INTERNET!!!!!

OK.. well I never said that these things werent happening, however, hiding behind CL and this website you are beginning to sound bitter.

The property managment company is there to assist both owners and residents, however, if things are not brought to their attention than how can any of the issues be resolved. Its calle being proactive, versus reactive and at this time no action is being taken.

I have commented on CL.. please feel free to contact me... I do live at Itopia.. and I have other units in Itopia that I rent and want to be proactive in improving the community, not just for me.. or my tenants but everyone.

SO I am challening you to contact me via email.. list your unit number.. the rental company and any other pertinant information that you feel I need to help resolve the issues. You do not have to leave me your contact number, however, the contact number your landlord/owner of the unit... Thanking you in advance in resolving the issues.

You must be the exception to the rule or just one of those GREEDY OWNERS I have read about.

YES, these things are happening at ITOPIA and God forbid someone has a mishap and falls through the wooden eaten decks by the Termites or someone gets shot by a drug dealer etc.

YES, we all know that there are Owners of each of these condos and that even makes it worse. You know why? Because if you have to B**** or complain about problems if a management company was involved at least you could get things resolved through the chain of command.

People do your homework and don't waste your time looking here!!!!!

Also, there are better condos out there that are newer and MUCH MUCH LESS then $800 to $1100 per month. WHAT A RIP OFF!!!! Who cares if the crappy Knology cable is included. Remember, if you want Brighthouse cable you have to pay for it out of your own money. Only knowlogy is covered and it is the pits of the pits!!!!!!

Don't Waste Your TIME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Oh my.

As an owner, resident and landlord at Itopia I am sorry to hear that your experience at Itopia has less than happy.

I have lived there for 3 years now, and have never saw/experienced any, if not all that you have. Wonder why that is?

Regarding bugs, as a resident your unit can be sprayed. Contact Julie at the front office and request the pest folks come by and spray, they do it on a weekly basis. Also, ask your neighbors to put in a request too that way the entire building is treated on not just your unit.

Snakes? I have seen a couple over the years, and I live on one of the ponds. If they are that much of a nuisance, again, contact Julie and explain the situation.

There hasnt been one boat parked on the properties since I have resided there. That goes for junky cars, too.

Who are you compaining to? Your landlord? or the front office?

The buildings are not owned by one person, most likely there are 16 owners to each building.

At no time do I advertise my units as all inclusive. I make sure it is known to my tenants that electricity is etc and I give them an idea of how much their monthly bill will be.

You are right, there is no laundry facility, but as far as I know most if not all unit as them in the units and are supplied by the owner of the units.

I could go on and on about your post. Again, I am sorry that you are bitter about your expierience at Itopia.
