J C Whitney - beware solicitation credit card account rip-off LaSalle Illinois

J C WHITNEY HAS NOT RIPPED ME OFF IN AND OF ITSELF.

They have, however, sold my credit card number to another company which DID, in fact, rip me off. 'DMK Credit Radar' purchased my contact info from JC Whitney AS WELL AS my credit card number.

The phone solicitor to whom I spoke apparently decided to place an order for their (utterly useless) services, even though I declined, using my credit card number which I did not furnish to them. This wound up costing me twice the initial amount because the card number in question belonged to my check card and consequently overdrew my checking account.

This company claims they will furnish proof that any order was placed or refund twice the price. I contacted them several months ago, and have heard nothing.

I finally resolved (in my mind) this issue through my bank; but would urge anyone doing any business by credit card (especially over the internet) to reconsider 'allowing us to contact you regarding special offers and services...'
