How many names does she have?

AUTHOR: BBB57 - (United States of America)

POSTED: Monday, June 27, 2011

I too bought a BROODMARE from a woman in Alto, TX...Betsy Weathers. The photos she sent me, the mare looked thin but I assumed she needed her teeth done (she is 18). Betsy said she was not thin because I asked if there was an issue. After MANY emails & phone calls I pay-paled her the money. 8 days later we went to get her (7hrs. away...Betsy knew we were coming.) When I saw the mare I was shocked..! skin-over-bones, stuff running from her eyes & vaginal area & pooped runny BLACK stuff..! Had I not paid for her I would have left then & there. We tried to no avail to load the mare, at one point the mare reared & fell on her hounches & wouldn't get up without pressure. I have  COPD, bad back & a crippled knee. I don't buy horses I can't handle by myself but was reassured she was a calm mare anyone could handle..."#2 in calmness...?
She was a #2 till we got to the trailer...then it was an #8..! We were there from 9am to almost noon. When I gave up on trying to load here (Betsy was not there) I asked Mr Weathers to refund my money...he said he would have to ask Betsy & went into the house to call.... NEVER SAW HIM AGAIN. After about 30 min. we put the mare back in the pen, waited in the truck for another 15 while their Grate Dane was jumping on my truck scratching it down to the metal...! We left & She NEVER called me, so when I got home I emailed her & asked for a refund...OMG that was the wrong thing to do. She said I own the mare come get her, if she was not gone by that Fri. she'd start charging $8.00 a day.....After the Holiday, I have tried many times to have someone get her but Betsy tells them I owe a lot of $ & the mare is not going anywhere!!! Just last week I had a shipper lined up to get mare, they contacted her for a pu date. Betsy told them not to waist their time as the mare wasn't going anyplace as I now owed her $1150 & I wasn't gonna pay it.
This mare was sold to me as "calm, #2, BROODMARE sound"  but hadn't had a foal since 09, sickly. Now what to do...?  Is this the same person ya'll are talkin about...?  BETSY WEATHERS BJWPAINTS or Wander Horse Carriage Co at 1132 FM 1911 s  Alto, TX 75925   903-721-7870   the mare is still listed (as sold) on equinenow.com under DEE PERFECT ANGEL.....that photo looks good compaired to what she really looks like...! Also Betsy informed me she got a coggins done LAST Monday....I was told all paperwork was in order.......I just want a refund, she can sell her to someone else as broodmare sound...! Can someone help..?

Oh, please!!! Give me a BREAK!!!!!!!!!!

AUTHOR: Heartsick - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Tuesday, July 08, 2008

P. Wilson, what are you trying to do here? I, along with many others, have no problems with horse traders as long as they admit that is what they are. I DO have a problem with horse traders denying they are horse traders, telling people lies, and selling horses they claim to have owned for years!!

Horses who are supposedly safe, sound and personal family horses that they have sadly "outgrown". I have a nice gelding that was with a horse trader at one time. I knew that going in and decided to take the risk. It was a risk worth taking! PW, if you are a horse trader, you should admit it to everyone you sell to. You brag about the financial success of your business on one hand, yet hide behind anonymity on the other.

It would save you, and a great deal of other people, a lot of heartache if you would just admit what you do. If Ms. Conway is a horse trader, so what? If she buys and sells horses from an auction, who cares? Did she scam YOU in any way? Does not sound like it.

I do not see her name on this website except for a complaint by another "company" who appears to remain anonymous. Hmmmm. That is interesting. If you feel you were slandered on this site, you are free to file a rebuttal and let interested parties make their own decision. Again, keep posting, though! It keeps your name in the spotlight!!

Who's the victim?

AUTHOR: Justice - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Saturday, July 05, 2008

The original complainant on this report is none other than the notorious Patricia. She is making an obvious attempt to discredit Janet Conway. Unfortunately, Janet Conway is the victim NOT Patricia, as she would like you to believe.

Patricia has made threats to smear the names of her victims, who have brought her BAD horses trading practices to the public eye. Apparently she is carrying out those threats. There are many people out there who have bought horses from Patricia. Many of theses horses were grossly misrepresented. In certain cases the level of the misrepresentation has even caused physical injury, as well as financial loss.

I see on another report, under the name of Rhonda Strickland, Patricia is trying to smear her name, as well. But, here again Ms. Strickland is the victim, NOT the complainant Patricia.

It's truly as shame that Patricia apparently is trying to bash others in order to make herself look innocent. However, I'm sure the general public can see beyond her tactics. In fact, I'm no so sure that Patricia's plan didn't backfire on her.

In order to help protect yourself against unscrupulous horse traders. Anyone out there wanting to purchase a horse in the East TX area needs to be VERY prudent in checking out the seller before making the purchase. Listen to the masses, rather than the rantings of one angry, vindictive, person who has an obvious chip on her shoulder. Go to web sites such as Dream Horse Forum & ask questions of the people who are in the know and have current info on good and bad horses traders, in your area. Just a little bit of homework can save a lot of pain and misery later on. Trust me, I'm speaking from personal experience that I too had with Patricia.

Danger to inexperienced riders / horsemen

AUTHOR: Tx_paint - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Saturday, July 05, 2008

My friend purchased a "kid proof show horse" for her daughter from Patricia Wilson. She was so excited about this "pony". She actually had an unbelieveable deal for a horse sale, also. She had a 30 day money back guarantee if she didn't like the horse, or it didn't work out for any reason. As a matter of fact, Patricia told my friend that this was her personal horse and that she wanted a "buy back" deal if she ever decided to sell. My friend was basically overwhelmed as this horse/pony was literally pushed on her. It was such a coincidence that a trailer happened to be coming our way and she would put the horse/pony on it right away. My friend wired SOME of the money to Patricia's bank, and was very smart in holding back the rest, it turns out! The horse/pony was very cute and seemed to be okay at first. No one rode it for a few days to let it acclimate to its new surroundings. When she did put her daughter on this pony, it didn't do much at all. Didn't respond well to leg cues, needed to be plow reined, etc. Not what you would expect when you pay in excess of 5,000 for a genuine safe kid horse. Eventually, I put my own daughter on this horse/pony as she is an excellent rider. The pony (he was advertised as 14.1 but was definitely below that) responded a little better to her, as my daughter is a little older and a little stronger rider with more experience than my friends. My daughter got him into a walk, then eventually a slow jog. After a bit she tried to ask him for a lope. He just trotted faster and faster and when she pushed him just a little more, clucking and leaning a little forward, he blew up with her. I'm not talking a crow hop, I'm talking full fledged all four legs off the ground, rodeo worthy bucking. Wild eyed, the whole nine yards. Of course my daughter went down with her foot got hung in the stirrup. Thank God I was out there as well as my friend. We didn't move towards that pony but sort of hemmed him in a little. Just before my daughter got her foot out of the stirrup, he took off running towards the other end of the arena. That could have been such a disaster in so many ways. I don't think that ANYONE should sell a horse as a "child safe mount, guaranteed!" unless they are willing to risk the life of a child on it......would you? Well, this is EXACTLY what Patricia Wilson is doing. While it is never acceptable to sell a misrepresented horse, I know its done all the time.....its happened to me MANY times......I can take care of myself. A child however, is another story. People are buying, and paying top dollar for, these "beginner friendly, child safe, bomb proof" horses that is ALL that Patricia sells. Never has ANYONE stepped up to say that they have actually bought one of these horses! All you will see are horses that are bought for a beginner, were sold as beginner safe, that turned out to be totally the opposite. Most people in the horse industry know that a TRUE beginner safe horse is worth its weight in gold, literally. They sell for top dollar, especially show savvy ones. And parents don't mind paying that price for a safe animal for thier children. But when you place your trust in someone that has absolutely NO regard for the safety of the buyer or the family, that can be severely dangerous. We horse people KNOW that you can never predict what a horse will do. They are big, stupid animals as my husband says. But there ARE horses that are more predictable than others.....thus a child safe, not beginner safe, experienced only, etc are what buyers look for when purchasing a horse. You have to KNOW the horse well in order to be able to make any claim about the disposition of it. At least give buyers the opportunity to be aware that the horse is an "unknown"!!!!! Anyway, the bottom line is, the horse WAS eventually returned, but not all of the money.....there is a child who was sorely disappointed that her pony didn't work out and a child just plain sore due to the deceptive trade practices of this Patricia Wilson. One day, someone WILL be seriously injured which is why there is a class action suit pending to try and protect the public. And to protect honest sellers who actually CARE about what happens to the horse AND rider.

Patricia Wilson, Avinger Texas said she was going to put all of the ones on dreamhorse forum on ripoff.com

AUTHOR: Rhonda - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Saturday, July 05, 2008

Please everyone just type in Patricia Wilson ,as of right now there are twelve reports on her on ripoffreport.com. She claims that all that have reported her are telling lies . I find this hard to believe what she is saying about Janet . I see nowhere on the internet other then this that patricia is saying bad about her. I do know that Patricia told me lies after lies on a horse that I purchased from her. I have over $3350.00 invested in the mare she completely misrepresented to me. Had someone come to my house to look at the mare and I told the truth ,well all I personally know of the mare ,can't seem to get any true information from Patricia would not even give me $800.00 . Know of one man that had paid alot of money for one that she had sold him that was badly misrepresented and he sold it for $1.00 . Another one that just donated his. She is probally getting very upset with all of us on the formum because we are trying hard to keep her from putting her ads on the internet and having more victims . If she would have been a honest seller none of this would have happen. I do know you can't please everyone ,but don't tell lies after lies . Honesty is the most important part of life in my opinion. One day she will meet her creator and will have to answer to him as we all will .

I will not be intimidated by this scare tactic!!

AUTHOR: Janet Conway - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Friday, July 04, 2008

My name is Janet Conway of Henderson, TX. I am a horse breeder, and I do sell horses. I have been working with some other folks in trying to get a "real" horse dealer who has ripped off many people stopped. This "real" dealer threatened to go after us on ripoffreport, and I guess she has made good on her threat. If you want to know further info and how you can help get a "real" rip off person off the internet, please contact me at 903-889-2086, and I will be glad to give you her name, and contacts that you can call to verify the fact that this ripoff report on me is just an intimidation tactic.

If anyone does read this and has bought a horse and been "ripped" off by a woman in the East Texas area, please contact me. We need to get your story to go along with others that are have been in contact with law enforcement agencies about her. Thank you for your time in reading this.

As you will notice, unlike the person who wrote this report about me, I have no qualms in using my actual name, address and phone number. I have no need to hide behind anonymity.

Janet Conway, Henderson, TX
