My name is John Savvas, I worked with Jason E. Atkins the entire time we were in Brazil.  So you hear the entire story and every knows the second half, here it is...

Was Jason E. Atkins in Brazil?  Yes, we were there 17 times in one year.

Was there money owed?  Yes, HE owed about $2,ooo the last time we went there in January 2008.  During RioHeroes #15 Jason, Jorge Pererra, Matt and I went down to Brazil, Jason brought $22,000 in cash to pay the fighters.  Also, we flew down on American Airways with two $23,000 Sony Professional rewind machines for the control room to improve our latest event. 

If anyone has ever done broadcasting you will know that this is an expensive venture.  He  probably had about $160,000 in tv equipment to preform LIVE broadcasting. A StreamZ server $45k, a control board $25k, two Sony rewind machines 2 X $23k.  (4) GL 2 Video Camera's $1,300 X 4.  2 Servers, $12k and $3k, 3 x $400 monitors plus Jason paid for the construction of the fight cage, improvements to the run down building, stereo and PA system. 

So, there we are in a third world country in the middle of some run down slum with all  this cash, didnt speak the launguage and knew no one.  So, on the last rioheroes fight, everything went great, Howard Stern The King of all media had promoted our last event on his show with KC Armstrong, Jason Dicieded to do the event for ""FREE"" to really get the name out there.  So, at the end of the event we recieved word that the local currupt police wanted to meet with us becasue they said they wanted money to allow the fights to continue.  They heard that USA and Brazil attendance was over 1 million strong and at $9.95 per viewer that ment that Jason E. Atkins had made $10 million in fee's.  Now, you need to know Jason, he had some money but not a lot, maybe $300k to his name.  He had some investments in the USA but nothing that he could get any real cash out of.  Jason had 3 other partners in this fight web site and he only owned about 40% of the company.  I know he didnt own 50% because he always had to get approval to do anything and if he owned more the 50% then he would have done whatever he wanted. 

So, theres Jason and me and our other employees in Brazil, he put everything he owned into this control room, paid all the fighters for everything including food, hotel and if one of the guys got hurt, he gave them an extra $400 which is like $4k in the USA because he thought if they are hurt then they cant work for the recovery time.  OK, we didnt speak the launguage, didnt know anyone and all this equipmnent he owned, none of the other partners paid for because they had run out of money months back.   We just  did another ""free"" event and now the police wanted thier cut of the profits??  Wait!!!!  remember!!!!!   we gave the event away for free...  Oh ya, thats right, the brazilian police dont read English and didnt understand the event was free so they wanted 10% of the suposed $10 million, ya, thats one million dollars.  So, Jason and I were like Midnight Express right after the fights were over....  We ran strait to the airport and took the next flight out.  So, what money was owed.... 

We had an apartment we all stayed in and there was three months left at $250 per month.  Plus, the two guys the helped us out the day we got down there and the night of the fights as well as our ride to the airport after the fights.  Jason paid them about $100 per day for three days times 3 guys.  mayber $600 cash.  So, as we got out of the car,  jason said that he would send money when he got back to the USA because with these third world cops looking for $1 million dollars and could put us in jail for years before anyone would know were we are.....   he wasnt coming back, EVER AGAIN.  Second he asked that they please send his $160,000 equipment back to the USA and then he would pay the money owed.  Well, guess what?????? 

Once these guys knew we could never go back to Brazil, the equipment some how came up missing.  MISSING????   Now, this place was locked down like fort knox., how does all that equipment just come up missing????      So, Jason didnt sent the rent money and $600 to the two guys.   WHO WOULD?????   Thats the story.

The funny part, after missing $160,000 in equipment, they have the balls to ask for $2k in back pay, not $40k, they just added more to the amount to make the story sound more juicy, but if they didnt ask for the money then they would really look guilty, right???
