This company sales Re-Manufactured  Turbochargers for Diesel engines to include the cummins 6.7 engine. I would NOT purchase from this company any parts, engines, or turbchargers. They place a 1 year no mileage restriction on the turbo's however, they also know that the turbo doesn't have a very long life expectancy, hence ripping people off for a product with the knowledge of it's failure.  In their add quoted from Jaspers web page.

“Each JASPER remanufactured Cummins 6.7L Holset turbo undergoes a three-step balancing process,” said Ryan Dooley, JASPER Diesel Division Manager. “The turbine shaft/wheel assembly, and the compressor wheel, are individually balanced on a component balancer.”

The rotating assembly, or center section, is then balanced on a high speed VSR machine. “The center section is balanced at over 70,000 RPM.” said Dooley. “We verify balance is at .05 grams per square inch or below for best operation and improved turbo life.”

In addition to the value-added quality remanufacturing steps to provide a perfect product, great care is taken to ensure each component can stand up to the rigors of everyday life. “Each Cummins 6.7L Holset turbo receives new bearings and thrust packages, 100% new seals on pushrods to keep exhaust gases out of the bearing housing, along with new cross shaft seals to prevent oil leaks out of the actuator drive gear port,” said Dooley. “We also install new stainless steel cup plugs to prevent corrosion.”

The variable geometry of this turbo is controlled by a sophisticated CAN controlled module. “Each of these actuators has its CAN network communication verified and is electronically calibrated to the turbo,” added Dooley.  “100% new seals are used to keep the coolant used to cool the actuator away from the delicate electronics inside.”

Just after 44,122 miles the turbo has failed, upon calling them and speaking to a warranty specialist I was told most all parts sold by them with a no mileage restriction is backed by 100,000 miles. Upon informing them of the part (turbocharger) the specialist then told me that this part is not covered by the 100,000 miles as he had stated, I then asked if it was normal for the turbochargers to fail with less then half of the 100,000 miles that most other turbochargers are covered by?  He stated," It has a 1 year no mileage restriction on parts and labor."

I asked if he was referring to the parts such as, bearings, seals, shafts, and the drive gear or the turbocharger unit as a whole, the warranty doesn't imply that the over all whole component is covered for 1 year, it only states parts and labor, since they did not perform the labor that is a moot point. Upon research I found that most turbo's are covered up to 100,000 miles and should last at least this long if not the life of the vehicle. At the spendy price tag of $1250.00 dealer cost I would expect that this company would back up the craftsmanship of the component as their add implies.

If you are looking for a Turbocharger I would look up other companies before purchasing one from Jasper as they do have many complaints filed against them and the warranties they offer.

I had no choice in the matter as I had fallen victim of the dealership. The dealership is the ones who ordered the turbocharger and installed it into my vehicle at their expense. The dealership has offered no resolution to the situation and has since returned the vehicle to me unrepaired and offered a remedy of purchasing a different turbocharger from the manufacturer with the price tag of $5600.00 my expense and wouldn't even offer to split the cost since this is their problem also. They knew the part would fail and chose to make the repair as cheap as possible for themselves not considering or having concerns for the customers best interest.
