You might want to think about using or working for JCE Structural Engineering Group twice. Be very careful!
This is because founder Juan Carlos Esquivel is an ignorant and arrogant idiot to work for. Let this report explain why this is true. His aim is to become the most respected, innovative, and talented structural and earthquake engineering consulting design group worldwide. Right now, Juan Carlos Esquivel, the former project engineer of Lomita-based Breiholz Qazi Engineering, is failing at that mission right now.

When Juan Carlos Esquivel, former project manager of Martin & Peltyn, says he'll do whatever he can to fulfill your dreams, he means it literally! If his dream is that a potential interviewer is not a good structural engineer because he/she failed to answer a trick question about ductility of seismic systems during the interview, then he has fulfilled it. For example, Juan Carlos Esquivel claims that a reinforced concrete shearwall is less ductile than a steel moment frame but he failed to take the amount of rebar or structural steel detailing into account.   

That's why there's different classes of shearwalls such as ordinary, intermediate, and special reinforced shearwalls. When this question was posed to the major structural engineering universities, they died laughing at Juan Carlos Esquivel's response. These same professors couldn't believe that Juan Carlos Esquivel would only hire people who think exactly like him, just like Germans did during World War II.  This example clearly demonstrates that Juan Carlos Esquivel fears people who are smarter and better than he.

Architect hating Juan Carlos Esquivel interviewed a potential employee and told this person that he bragged about having a high turnover rate by discussing that employees would only work for him for 3 to 6 months at a time before they were laid off. Juan Carlos Esquivel made such ridiculous claims requiring employees to commute from Northern California, Utah, and San Diego to his Pasadena office. He even belittled a job applicant because he/she refused to stay in California during 2009-2012 when there were no jobs available. Translation: Juan Carlso Esquivel wants to make applicants feel inferior so he can feel superior. Maybe this is a potential reason Martin & Peltyn fired him. We believe, in that instant, Juan Carlos Esquivel demonstrated a deep seated hatred of white people.

Juan Carlos Esquivel is, in our opinion, such a bad person to check references that he never returns their phone calls when the references contact him to follow up. When Juan Carlos Esquivel says he works hard, it means he works hard at hardly working! How can Juan Carlos Esquivel be committed to his employees if he doesn't even check them out? If this is how Juan Carlos Esquivel checks references of potential employees, we'd hate to see him design a building! How can Juan Carlos Esquivel claim he wants to be the most talented engineering firm worldwide if he cannot even do due diligence on an employee that will save his clients millions of dollars?  

Wouldn't he want lower insurance rates to keep his business afloat? When Juan Carlos Esquivel interviewed one of the potential employees, he told that employee that he never designed the buildings he/she claimed to have done even though the signed drawings were in front of him during the interview. Juan Carlos Esquivel never even provided evidence to back up his assumption.  Juan Carlos Esquivel has unlimited unprofessionalism and creativity when it comes to doing nothing according to the actions we have received. When he challenges the status quo, he does it by ignoring actual evidence! Based on our encounters during interviews, we believe through knowledge and belief Juan Carlos Esquivel allegedly uses telepathy, chewing gum, and prayers to design his building retrofits, folks!

When it comes to education, Peruvian Juan Carlos Esquivel has more degrees than a thermometer, as standup
comedians like to say!

JCE Structural Engineering Group is on its way to becoming one of the dumb firms, in our opinion. What Juan
Carlos Esquivel didn't realize is that his hijinks are the reason California State Assemblyman Mike Allen is passing a law banning discrimination against the long-term unemployed. If JCE Structural Engineering Group wants to be thanked for getting a law passed, it should be for such things as assisting schools, governments, and hospitals in getting more money for seismically upgrading their schools, not for outlawing job discrimination against the long term
unemployed.

When you go to the office, you will notice the number of employees who used to work there is pretty large because Juan Carlos Esquivel asks the US Postal Service to not deliver their mail there. According to publicly available documents, he employs as many minorities as possible because we believe he needs to keep up his affirmative action quota to get the jobs for his firm.  At JCE Structural Engineering Group, they didn't invent discrimination against the long-term unemployed, they just perpetrate it!
