Jean A. Foss is a Registered Nurse who once lived in Illinois and presently live in Indiana, is the former owner of Jean A. Foss & Associates, in Chicago IL.  Her company offered contract/consulting, risk mangement, third party administration services to Bethany Methodist Corporation, Bethany Homes and Methodist Hospital of Chicago in Illinois.  

If an employee or invitee was injured on the hospital's property, nursing manager would notify her company, she would report to the hospital to investigate, take photos, question staff, access damages and protect evidence. Her duty was to also call in personal injury claims for employees and invitees to the hospital's excess carrier(s). Back on April 6, 2001, my aunt Joyce was admitted into the above hospital, because she was very sick and diminished mental state, a doctor confined her to her bed to prevent falls.  Three days later on the early Sunday morning of April 8, 2001, we learned that my aunt sustained second and third degree burns over 70% of her body from hed down to her legs, transfered to a burn hospital and died later that night.  

The hospital was not on a tie in to the fire department, therefore, the staff called (911) at some point of time. The fire department and Bomb and Arson arrived on the scene and went to the room where my aunt was confined.  The bed had been removed,the room cleaned of all evidence of the fire, however, the staff had a black purse with butts in it they alleged was in the room. pictures were taken of the purse and butts, smoke drop ceiling, melted walter pitcher, burned gown, etc..  

Jean Foss, negelcted to do her job and did not turn crucial fire evidence over to bomb and arson.  Instead she instructed the staff to tell police that  my aunt was smoking in the room,and the Chicago Police closed the case right away. Jean Foss and the hospital nursing staff made allegation that my aunt caused her self to get burned, and that she was smoking, well knowing that she was admitted by ambulance without a purse. The paramedics did not note that my aunt had a purse or cigaretts in their report.

The family hired an attorney Robert W. Karr & Associates, in Chicago to file premises liability/personal injury claims with the hospital and their insurers, which was done through TPA, Jean Foss, RN, Jean Foss & Associates. I saw when the two of them suspiciously met at the hospital as if they knew each other. Me and other family members suspect that the two of them filed claims, i.e., professional liability for the doctors negligence and premises claim against the hospital's self insured trust, and received payment of my aunt's claim from the trustee(s), for their own financial gain.  

To this day the family has not received one dime from the negligent hospital. Then about 2005, Jean Foss closed her business and relocated to Indiana.  The attorney never did her dosition or subpoena or saw any evidence of the fire that was in her possession. She fled town running from her past and need to answer to the family and the law regarding her tampering and destroying evidecne from a hospital fire that caused my aunt's death. Jean Foss also covered up for a nurse Srisuk, RN, who was my aunt's nurse that morning, who was never questioned about the fire in her patients room.  It is against the law for some people to destroy evidence of a fire, however, Jean Foss and her co-conspirators are exempt from the law at least in Chicago. Jean Foss needs to answer to my family and be brough to justice for criminal negligence and cover-up.
