#1 REBUTTAL Individual responds

There is always two sides to every story

AUTHOR: Jean - (United States)

POSTED: Tuesday, April 24, 2018

Anyone can “vent” their frustrations cheaply, easily, and anonymously online. One has to wonder why someone with a serious issue (like the statements made here) has to hide behind the internet curtain, rather than having an open and professional conversation about the issue. Wouldn’t acting in a fashion that is geared toward solving the issue be a better idea?

The lawyer who left this review is changing the facts, which is why hiding behind an anonymous slander makes more sense for him, than discussing the facts with me with honesty and a goal in mind, that helps us finding a mutually agreeable solution.

There is always two sides to every story.

Working with lawyers in the entertainment industry is especially difficult because many of them work for big firms and are fighting for billable hours. Anyone who has ever worked with a lawyer will be able to relate to the statement, that most lawyers will not admit when their have reached their limits. They will keep charging high fees and keep the billable hours going. When they are questioned, they usually respond with vague answers that keep them safe (rather than their clients).

This is what happened in this case. The lawyer who placed this review was displeased by me questioning his actions and pointing toward his limitations. He ignored me until it was too late and the harm he did left me no option but to fire him. He caused financial damage to me and my project. He is correct in saying that I did not pay his last bill for that very reason.

He is however not correct in posting all the other comments, none of which are true. I have never filed a bankruptcy, which anyone can confirm easily by checking online. I have never done anything fraudulent, nor have I stolen or done anything illegal. If I did, anyone could easily find a conviction online. My “history of unscrupulous business dealings” is non- existent, unless questioning questionable actions (which I have a tendency to do) is seen as such.

Btw. three months after we parted the firm fired him. I will not name him here, because I don’t lower myself to internet slander.

I have nothing to hide and I am always available to answer any questions. Feel free to email me at my personal email: jbuerling@gmail.com.

I do hope that internet slanders learn the decency to at least try working things out with whomever they face issues with. Anonymously embellishing facts into fiction online is low and unnecessary. Fact is, it’s not helpful to anyone and it’s not solving the issue.  Learning the art of honest communication may be a better idea. That said, that may not quite fit the job description of a lawyer …
