to the idot that put this on about jochum & schroeder what a joke. ellerbach's sold there farm due to high demand on farmland. this is a beautiful farm and they decided to sell they r one of the lucky ones that were able to retire. so to the idot that wrote this line of crap MAY YOU ROT IN HELL...   1.5 millon to retire from there land house and buildings and machinery sale and crops on top of that . i call it someone is very jealous

 That's odd considering the Ellerbach ' s are hog farmers.

Congratulations to Senator Pam Jocham, area veterinary clinics, Jeff Schroeder and everyone who helped spread the word and educate the general public of puppy mills and what to look for when purchasing a puppy! Your efforts helped shut-down the Holy Cross puppy mill and the sub-standard facilities were auctioned off.

Here you can get consumer complaints and inspection results of the Ellerbach breeding facility blocked off from the public eye.
Such as:

Making their own vaccines using bovine vaccines and distilled water. A diluted dose resulting in a deathly ill puppy to give a "Negative" test result.

Incomplete or non-existant records of the 128 breeding adults.

Records of disposition for numerous puppies were not available.

Re-use of old dulled needles and unsterilized syringes does not constitute good vetrinary practice.

Strong amonia odor is present, this is a repeat offense. Sufficient ventilation is required for their health and well-being.

Excessive amounts of waste and excreta materials are present on floors, in cages and dogs. Due to the small size of these cages, contact with this excreta and food material is unavoidable in all instances.

Cages found with dried and desiccated waste material and exhibit white-to tan mold growth.

Enclosures found to be of insufficient size for the dogs to move and turn around freely. The enclosures do not provide enough interior height (head-room) for dogs stand fully upright.

Dogs that were to be identified with a microchip were not identified.

Outdoor enclosures made of wood were found unsealed and not impervious to moisture.



The list goes on and on! Its sad the Ellerbachs are so greedy for money, they cut corners on safety and animal well being and feel they must lie and cast blame on the buyer when confronted with accountability!

This is the first person that has reported their puppy was with out problems. I'm not saying all their puppies have problems, because I do not attest to know this. I stated what happened with my dog & Jeff & Amy's puppy. I know the truth here. Regardless of what is printed here. I suggest any one considering purchasing a puppy from the Ellerbach's contact the Dubuque Humane Society et inquire if they have received any puppies from people who have purchased a puppy from the Ellerbachs et reasons why the person brought the puppy to the Humane Society.

Also ask if there have been any complaints received about the Ellerbachs. A person might want to contact a few veternarians in Dubuque & ask if any of their client's have had a problem with a puppy purchased from the Ellerbach's. To say that Jeff & Amy no longer wanted the puppy so they killed it is ludicrous. I just had someone inquire as to where I purchased Nija, when i replied the Ellerbach's. The person told me they replied to the Ellerbachs ad for a Goldendoodle et when the person inquired about Hip Dysplasia Karen replied that she has never had a problem with it. Her Golden Retriever does not have Hip Dysplasia. Sounds like something I was told!!!!! BUYER BEWARE

i purchased a puppy from ellerbachs quite a few years ago and had no problems with him. he was the sweetest dog ever and i have been considering purchasing another puppy from them.

They answered all my questions about him. They were a kind considerate couple and i asked them if they could possibly meet me halfway with him and they were kind enough to do that.

I think you people on here shouldnt be writing wrong things about them.

I have never owned a German Shepherd dog now or at any other time in my life. The lies continue to come. These are the lies you tell buyers of your puppies. Some day all the lies you tell will catch up to you both. Some of those lies are catching up to you now aren't they?

But we do know that over walking a pup can create all this.

Breeders and veterianaries agree that that there is great danger over walking or excersing your pup while there bones are going through there main growing stage!!

We have nothing to lie about.. We explained that all to you , you told me you were planning on walking her right away !! You can bring it on before 1 years old..
You said 2-3.5 miles per day you were walking her!! Way over done !!!!!

We never said hip dyplaisa or acl isnt genetic!!!

What you did you by walking her that much you created that yourself!!

You told me you bought a germ shep. for $1100.00 from another breeder and that pup got hip dysplasia. Could it be that you over walked the germ shep to much to ?????????

Jeff and Amy Schroeder called and asked if we had any Labradoodle pup..I said yes i have 1 girl & 7 boys.Jeff said i only want a girl..So that is why i showed him only the girl.Yes in my garage cause it was very cold out!!

So jeff & Amy came & played with the pup over a hour. they decided to purchase her. I sold her for $200.00 not $300.00 like he said.. This is also on the policy.And we have a copy of the check that he stopped payment on. So there Jeff's first lie!!

I showed jeff the policy that shows the 72 hour health guarantee along with the shot records..He understood and signed it. So when they got home they called the vet to set an appointment up.So that is why he took her to the vet the next day!!

Jeff brought the pup out and said he wants his money back, that the pup has parvo.Jeff had the door open to his suv to show Jim the pup.I was also looking out the window at the time and he had he in a see through crate..The puppy was barking and wanting to get out & play..

Jim asked Jeff if he had proof from the vet. Jeff said no!!
Jim said its on our policy that you have written proof from the vet.Jim said go back to the vet for the proof and make sure he signs it. As stated on the policy !!

Well thats the last we heard from Jeff Schroeder !!

Later Jim talk to the vet .. the vet said he did do a parvo test on the pup at Jeff's request and she was Negative !!

Negative is Negative !!

The vet said he never told Jeff she has parvo !! So there another lie!!

All we asked for was proof that she had parvo and you didnt have any!!
We have a policy but Jeff failed to prove anything!!

We think Jeff decided he didnt want a pup and this is the sad story he came up with !!

She sure didnt look sick when he was out here and then he had her put down !!
How sad!!!

Jeff is a business person you know about policy's and understand them..

When someone comes out to look at a car do you show the whole parking lot!! No just what they ask for !!

We are a licensed Kennel and love our pets !!!

We are referred from alot of locally vets !!And from people that had bought in our past that there pets died from old age. Doctors, Lawyers, & drug task !!

And like Jeff said From a Probable parvo pup that was proven Negative !!

We have taken contacted a lawyer and was told we can go after Jeff for SLANDER !!

I am not going to argue with you as all you do is lie. Nija was just diagnosed with hip dysplasia @ 21 months your gaurantee is for 1 year against genetic defects. Why would I call you. 21 months is older than 1 year. Hip Dysplasia is GENETIC regardless of what you say. ACL repair is genetic. Two different veternarians told me. When I spoke with Jim & told him a reputabul breeder would let a prospective buyer see the Kennels. His reply was, "No they wouldn't you could carry in a desease." As for telling my husband & I about running , jogging with the pup is a lie. Yes I walked her 2-3.5 miles a day. What should I have done put her in a plastic bubble? Puppies run jump & play that is what they do.

I once bred Yorshire terrier puppies & I sold them with a gaurantee against genetic defects for life. I also returned peoples money with in a month if some one decided they did not want the puppy. Because some people do not realize the work that a new puppy is. I only had one puppy returned to me due to the person not knowing the work that puppies were. I had both mother & father on sight & did not let my children take them home especially when a buyer asked if they were on sight & I had told the person yes.

Yes I am a friend of Jeff & Amy. They came to you to get a puppy because of me. I never realized the trouble you would be. Their oldest daughter is crushed to this day. Especially when she saw the puppy expelling blood from it's rectum. They did not even have the puppy for 24 hrs. We all know the truth & as I stated before there are more people who have had problems with the Ellerbach's that haven't come forward. I cannot or will not believe it is only Jeff & Amy & us.

I had talked with Several vets and they all said Anteroir Cruciate Ligament can be torn on a pup or dog that over done it with running, jumping , falling , stretching .

If you over do the pup the 1st year. Such as over walking , jogging can be very harmful for a pup .. There bones & knee's are still growing.. Even a diet can be harmful if you have them grow to fast can create joint & hip problems..

You said pups cannot get Hip Dyplasia before 2 years old.. THEY SURE CAN !! By over doing it !!!! OFA does not guarantee hip problems.. We were told they can get it as young as 6 months!! Just by over doing !!! That also goes for knee's ..

You also said your pup was very active !!!!!
This is the 1st we have heard about this from you!!
And how is the pup!!!!!

You must have a reason why you didnt call us, before the 1 yr. was up.. And i know you took the pup for a vet check !!! You told me the vet said the pup was GREAT!!!!

And you told me that you guys wanted to take the pup out right away to walk..And i did explain this all to you.. We are sorry about Nija, but perhaps this has nothing to do with us!!!!!!

And yes when our kids do come home they like to hang out with our pets & take them home with them.. So i dont know why that would be a red flag.. Our kids always had pets to play with !!!!!
