I paid $12.95 for a "Job Organizer" to apply for at-home jobs, and I didn't recieve the "access code" I was supposed to which unlocks the job directory to apply to ones I was interested in. I requested a refund but have not had any responses.

Some Factual Information on this company

AUTHOR: Steven - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Monday, August 01, 2005

I have already researched JLM Advertising on the Harris County Clerk's website. The company is registered with the address of:

7565 Fallbrook Dr.
Houston, Texas 77086

However, with further research I found that the website www.jlmadvertising.com is registered to S.I. Solutions. After searching the Harris County Clerk's website for S.I. Solutions, I found that they are registered with the address of:

13210 Avonshire
Houston, Texas 77083

The Harris County website is

http://www.cclerk.hctx.net/coolice/default.asp?Category=AssumeNames&Service=an_inquiry

You can go to this website and find the name of the owners of these companies. As a business owner in the State of Texas, I assure you that the county clerk requires that you provide a government issued id card to obtain the assumed business name with that county.

These companies are registered to two different people. I will be doing some more research to see if they are kin in any way.

I hope that this information is helpful in getting your problem solved.

This is a scheme according to the BBB of Houston TX

AUTHOR: Don - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Wednesday, November 24, 2004

Do a search in Texas for JLM Advertising under the BBB website and you will see all the complaints about them...all of them unresolved as this company does not respond at all to the BBB and obviously to their customers.
http://search.bbb.org/results.html

I know the BBB is basically a nothing organization, but you can find alot of information here about this company. 19 complaints filed since they opened in 2003, 15 in the last 12 months, and all complaints ignored by this company when the BBB asked for further information from them. But the BBB does give you some good advice and a heads up on these types of work at home schemes and how much trouble you could be in for signing up with them. I would stay away from this company.

Yes, they are a ripoff

AUTHOR: Don - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Wednesday, November 24, 2004

This company is definitely a ripoff. They constantly change their email addresses( the ones with autoresponders) and pretend not to receive your emails. I tried to get information from them, but they do not respond. Try to do a search for them through WhOIS and you will see that they have hidden their company information. No address on their website or phone number or even a fax to contact them.

I don't think they are really selling at home work, I think this is just another scam business. Someone should report them to Paypal as their payment processor is Paypal and at least this might stop them from taking peoples money!

Almost Paid!

I am so glad you reported this company. I was kind of skeptical when the email for more questions did not work and they did not have a customer service number. I also have been laid off for 10 months now and was sent the email from careerbuilder.com. I think they need to monitor the companys they allow on these employment sites. There are so many work at home scans.

Jlm Advertising - Monster.Com scam

AUTHOR: Janice - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Wednesday, July 14, 2004

Hi Melanie,
Thanks for the report!

I sent these people my resume a couple of days ago
and received the website tonight in my e-mail
with, you guessed it! 12.95 for the organizer in
order to get your access code. I don't know about
you, but I don't even have that to let go of.
I was laid off almost a year and a half ago and it's been a struggle.

Anyway, I first saw this on Monster.Com, this is where I applied from. I betcha money we could get them kicked off by contacting monster and letting them know what fakes they are? What do ya think?
I'm just glad you put this on here for everyone to see.

Just a thought, don't know if it will work or not
but you might want to call information in Houston and ask the operator if there is a listing for
JLM?
Good Luck
