Joe's Garage Give me a ,quiet break! North Little Rock, Arkansas

I took my car in to Joe's Garage to have the breaks repaired as they were grinding.  When I picked up my car I noticed that the breaks would squeak when applied.  I called and asked about this (to "Joe") and was told, in a very condescending manor, that the breaks were just fine and if I wanted breaks that didn't squeak I needed to get some sort of organic break, but they wouldn't last very long.

I happen to believe that it is not the nature of breaks to squeak or everyone's breaks would do that!

Unfortunately, I've not been able to afford to get another garage to examine my breaks as I spent all I had to get the emergency job done to my breaks.

I always felt that I could expect good service from "Joe" as he is well known in the area and has a local "Car Talk" type radio show on once a week.  I figured that if there were problems the word would get around.  I no longer think this is the case as there have been other times I had my car worked on there and was not 100% comfortable with what I was being told but never had the power behind me to have it checked out.

There was one time when I took my car in to have it worked on and when I picked it up one of the front struts had "frozen" (miraculously while it was in the shop).  They contested that it was just one of those things that sometimes happens and even tried to "bang" it out for me.  They then offered to install a new one for me, but the price was not in my budget.  Amazingly, after driving it around for a couple of weeks, on a very bumpy ride, the problem corrected it self and I've not had any problems with it since.
