I am poor, disabled, saw commercial to spend $300-$500, and earn $50,000 back. Called, was overwhelmed by positive feedback. Recorded my voice, and $9500 was gone from my credit cards, not for my investments, but for the company. I tried to get refunded ever since.

Now nobody was calling back. Got phoned from "coach", was supposed to be weekly, every time leading in a different direction. Called "hotline", who had entirely different views.

Confused, desperate, I spent hours at library trying to work "the program". Months went by, my condition worsened from the loss and stress. I bought my own computer, always telling them I was not able.

Toward the end of the program, that I did not know was ending, they finally said I could be re-imbursed with a Dr.'s note. By the time I got an appt., and subbmitted the note, I got "Sorry, the program is over, can't re-imburse for program ended.

I never got close to purchasing anything, had no credit left (I was promised I would earn money so fast, It would be before the next credit card statement came in). Since I never purchased, I never was tought the entire program, how to market, sell, ect.

They reluctantly gave me $3000, for "not attending a seminar in Las Vegas" I wanted and needed my entire $9500, that almost my anual income. I even sent their learning package, materials back when they arrived back in the very beginning, because I wanted no part of the program.

I am out $6500, with out so much as one learning tool, even If I try to learn myself, in order to get my money back!!!! I am now so sick and worried about what John Beck has done to me, my physical condition has worsened, I have large minimum payments to make, on such a small income, my credit which was always good, when I was working and well is now bad.

How can such a company steal from a sick, disabled, medicated, poor individual? How do they live with themselves?

Again, to date, nobody no matter what job capacity in that company has called. I am very ill and depressed, and do not no what to do. This is the first time I have been to my computer in two months, it has been so devastating. All the Hotmail corresspondence has been deleted, their phone number does not show up on my bill, I just have my credit card statements to show proof of loss, and all the attempts to contact them.

If they are so successful, it should be no hardship to reimburse what is to me, a whole lot of money, that I need!!$6500 out, for false advertisement, lack of service rendered, not informing me of recorse til it was to late, no coaching, no learning tools, no ablility to get refunded whatsoever. If their is a class action suit, please include me. I am totally devestated.

#3 Consumer Suggestion

Here's what a former Mentoring of America had to say about how they operate behind the scenes.

AUTHOR: Anonymus - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Tuesday, November 14, 2006

This came from a former Mentoring of America that quit after only 3 weeks because of how fradulent the business was. I have copied and pasted her exact messege as she typed it. I found it on another site which I can't mention because Ripoffreport will then not post my messege.

10/28/2006 - Michelle writes:
Actually this was my third, and last week, working with "Mentoring of America", llc. There is no John Beck Real Estate Office. What everyone says is true. Working there, I call people and try to qualify them. Anyone that is willing to tell you their financial situation is qualified if you have credit. I am a real estate agent. I went there hoping it was legit. It's not. The place is just very sleazy. Most of the workers there are drug addicts. They are just the scumiest lowlifes you can think of. I believe in ethics and customer service and this dump is just the opposite. The "star" salesman is Bobby []. He's an ex-con that got out of jail about six months ago for nonpayment of child support. He comes to work high. He's completely unethical and will say literally anything to get a sale. He lies through his teeth. The Chaz guy someone referred to is Charles [], a 21 year old boy. He has never had any schooling, but is quite a charmer. He also lies pathologically and tells customers he has Beck houses and employees, when he actually still lives with his mom but drives a Benz thanks to all of you. Then there's Debbie, a 53 year old meth addict with the maturity of a kindergartener before naptime. I hate her. She rifles though other's desks and listens to other's phone messages to steal their "deals". They never refer to people as people. The refer to them as "eight pounders" for those that spend 8000, and so on. 12 G's is a "12 pounder". When they are talking to customers, they actually make fun of how stupid they are and laugh like idiots. Bobby is shameless. They lie so much it's nauseating. These losers are taking your hard earned money. Please do not buy. I intend to turn them into the real estate division for calling themselves a real estate office and the commission. I hope they get raided and shut down. They are located in an almost abondoned building in Las Vegas. They don't use computers and have no paper trail at all. The people in my office aren't even rude, compared to the main office in Utah. You should hear what people on my call list say about the Utah offices. There's three of those. The Florida address is a post box. Please don't buy from these scumbags.

Mentoring Of America is an Evil Empire!

AUTHOR: Reid - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Sunday, November 05, 2006

Hello there Shannon,

I hope that this rebuttal finds you in good spirits and health.

1. Follow the steps that Anonymous has provided.

2. DO NOT stress over the situation. It IS NOT worth getting sick over this situation.

3. Mentoring Of America is a fraudulent company just like ALL the other ones which purport to "mentor" total strangers to wealth for less than their enrollment. It IS NOT just a matter of my opinion. ANY and ALL Real Estate programs that claim to "mentor" total strangers to making $10,000.00-$15,000.00 a month for anyting less are scams.

4. Visit this website daily for updates and to keep everyone posted as to where you are in your pursuit. It may take awhile for you to obtain a refund, but just hang in there and have fun. YOU WILL get your money back.

5. Mentoring Of America cannot substantiate dodo and have absolutely no recourse after one of their victims have been issued a refund. Why do you think no one has ever been taken to court by this fraudulent company and lost?

6. Remeber, DON'T STRESS! Allow the experiences from others (Anonymous, etc, etc) who have paved the way to serve as a guide to beating these genetic inbreeds.

Take care Shannon cause I care, Aloha from Hawaii and God Bless.

#1 Consumer Suggestion

How to get your money back, step by step.

AUTHOR: Anonymus - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Friday, November 03, 2006

Shannon,

First let me say that I went through the same situation with these lowly people associated with John Beck. Mentoring of America is the fraudulent company in Utah that conducts these coaching programs for John Beck, Jeff Paul, and also John Alexander. They care nothing about who you are, or your situation. They are only after your credit card number and money. They could care less about you. Mentoring of America has charged other people on this site anywhere in the wide range of $1,500 to $15,000 for the exact same coaching program.

Mentoring of America sets the price you pay for the program solely on the amount of available credit line was on your credit cards. Or like in my case, how much money you have saved in the bank. The program has no set price at all. Mentoring of America sells it on an individual basis for whatever they can. The salespeople who you speak with on the phone about this program are always very interested in learning about your credit cards and their limits. Then they refuse to issue refunds when you want one. That's fraud.

I'm going to get right to the point and tell you that I got Mentoring of America to issue me my full $7,000 plus refund, after everyone there coldly and rudely turned down my request for a long time. You just have to know what to do, and who to contact to get their attention and to get them to comply to your demands. That's what I am going to show you on this page. Since then, my suggestions have assisted other people on this site who have followed them, in getting their refunds also. Here is my proof to you that this can work for you as well, but only if you apply it and keep in contact with the Utah investigator. Please read everything I typed for you below, and more importantly DO IT. If you want your money back, take the follwing action. I can't do it for you. Only you can. I am sick and tired of seeing new rip-off reports appear regarding Mentoring of America and John Beck continuing to defraud others in the same manner.

It makes no difference how long ago this happened. You can get your money back. I got my full refund even after more than two years, once I finally figured out what I needed to do to get Mentoring of America's attention and comply to my demands that they otherwise chose to ignore and turn down.

REFUNDS ISSUED BY MENTORING OF AMERICA IN THE LAST 3 MONTHS:

In the last 3 months, Mentoring of America has issued the following refunds to people on this site who have followed and applied my suggestions:

Alexis from Florida got back her full $7,485.00

See it here:
ripoffreport.com/reports/ripoff203194.htm

Jeff from Mass. got back his full $6,500.00

See it here:
ripoffreport.com/reports/ripoff203813.htm

Lloyd from Minnesota just got refunded $9,700.00

See it here:
ripoffreport.com/reports/ripoff212345.htm

In August I personally got back my full $7,000 plus.
(An actual picture of my refund check to come if approved by ripoffreport.)

That right there is over $30,000 in refunds within last 3 months, and from only 4 people. This company is cheating people all across North America everyday.

There are perhaps more refunds issued that we do not yet know about from visitors and readers of this site who never post comments. If anyone out there has received a refund from the suggestions on this site, please post and share the dollar amount you got back.

MENTORING OF AMERICA HAS BEEN SUED REPEATEDLY IN UTAH VERY RECENTLY.

Here's a recent news report video that was aired on live local television about the lawsuits filed against John Beck's Mentoring of America in Utah in case you have not see it. It's important that you as a victim of this company see this broadcast.

Copy and paste the link below to your browser:

wkrc (( link redacted by ROR)))

Mentoring of America has now been sued again several more times after that news report was aired.

HOW TO GET YOUR MONEY BACK FROM MENTORING OF AMERICA:

#1 FILE A CONSUMER COMPLAINT FORM AGAINST MENTORING OF AMERICA WITH THE UTAH DIVISION OF CONSUMER PROTECTION:

Copy and paste this link to your browser for a copy of the consumer complaint form that you need:
consumerprotection.utah.gov/
downloads/complaintform.pdf

A. Print this consumer complaint form out, fill it out completely, sign it, date it, mail and/or fax it into the Utah Division of Consumer Protection office. Their address and fax number is right on the form itself. This is Mentoring of America's main corporate office. Use this address on your complaint form and all other complaints that you file, regardless of which of their other many Utah offices you are dealing with or getting your coaching from:

Mentoring of America LLC
752 East 1180 South Suite #200
American Fork, Utah 84003
Phone: 877-704-6346

B. BE SURE to staple to this Utah complaint form, a copy of your CREDIT CARD/BANK ACCOUNT STATEMENTS with the dollar amount Mentoring of America/John Beck has charged you clearly highlighted.

C. Also staple a copy of the unsigned "Enrollment Confirmation" page if you have it. Mentoring of America should have sent you an "Enrollment Confirmation" page that they wanted you to sign and return back to them. It's a single sheet of paper that shows the last 4 digits of your credit card(s), the price you paid for everything, the date, their company logo at the top, what you are getting for that price i.e., 10 half hour weekly calls, etc. If you still have it with you and have not signed it, make a copy of it, and also staple it to you complaint form and send it in all together. Do not sign this "Enrollment Confirmation" page. (An actual picture of my unsigned original copy of the "Enrollment Confirmation" page to come shortly if approved by ripoffreport.)

D. Use the "Summary" box of the Utah consumer complaint form to explain in detail your entire situation. BE SURE to include any and all fake promises their people told you, fake money back guarantees, lies, false statements, never mentioned a no-refund policy, misrepresentations, lack of communication, difficulty reaching them by any means, disconnected and changed phone numbers, as well as the names of any of Mentoring of America and John Beck's people you remember speaking with. Definitely mention the fact that you are sick, disabled, etc. Make it clear that you want a full refund of your remaining $6,500, and that all of our attempts to resolve the issue directly with the company have all failed.

E. When you see that your complaint form has arrived at the Utah Division of Consumer Protection office by either fax or mail, keep in direct contact with Utah investigator Ao Pauga at 801-530-6601. His first name is pronounced as "Al". This is the investigator who is dealing with Mentoring of America. This is the person you want to verify with that your complaint has been processed, and keep in touch with about it also. This is the person who helped me get my $7,000 plus back, as well as the above people I mentioned who go refunds.

#2 FILE A COMPLAINT AGAINST JOHN BECK AND ANOTHER AGAINST MENTORING OF AMERICA WITH THE BETTER BUSINESS BUREAU (BBB.com).

A. The more complaints from different directions you file against them, the better. Mentoring of America and John Beck will receive notification when you do this, and they will see that you are not playing games. Again, for Mentoring of America, file the complaint directly against their main corporate office at:

Mentoring of America LLC
752 East 1180 South Suite #200
American Fork, Utah 84003
Phone: 877-704-6346

B. Use the BBB complaint summary box to again explain everything you explained in the "summary" box of the Utah consumer complaint form above. Make it clear that you want a full refund of your remaining $6,500.

#3 FILE ANOTHER COMPLAINT AGAINST JOHN BECK AND ANOTHER AGAINST MENTORING OF AMERICA WITH THE FEDERAL TRADE COMISSION (FTC.gov).

A. Repeat the process here. Explain your situation once again just like you did on your Utah consumer complaint form. Again, make it clear that you want a full refund of your remaining $6,500, and that all your efforts to resolve the issue directly with the company have all failed.

#4 VERBAL AGREEMENTS AND VERBAL CONTRACTS OVER THE PHONE ARE NOT CONSIDERED VALID AND DO NOT COUNT IN THE STATE OF UTAH AND MANY OTHER STATES.

A. That's right. Any type of verbal agreement or verbal contract you may or may not have done with Mentoring of America over the phone is NOT considered valid and DOES NOT COUNT in the state of Utah, period, end of story. Mentoring of America KNOWS this well, but they think that you won't know. That is why Mentoring of America will send you via mail an "Enrollment Confirmation" page telling you to immediately sign and return back to them. They want your signature on paper since they know verbal agreements and verbal contracts won't hold value in a legal dispute. Nowhere on this "Enrollment Confirmation" page is there ANY type of mention of a "no-refund" or "all sales final" policy.

B. Mentoring of America likes to tell the people who call demanding a refund that they cannot issue you one, because they have you recorded on audio tape agreeing over the phone to their terms and conditions. If you ask them to let you listen to this recording, they will come up with excuses as to why they can't, but will keep insisting that they do have it. THIS IS NOT CONSIDERED VALID BY THE STATE OF UTAH. This is merely attempt by Mentoring of America to deter you from pursuing a refund, to keep your money, and to stall out your 60 day grace period in which you can go dispute and reverse the charges with your credit card company. Their call reps are trained and told to say this to you when you call them demanding a refund and your money back. They told me this when I called wanting to use the 100% money back guarantee that their lowly employee named JAYDER SALAZAR gave me to get me to sign up. They have told other people on this site the same thing. DON'T BUY INTO IT. IT WON'T HOLD UP IN A LEGAL DISPUTE NO MATTER WHAT THEY SAY.

#5 END YOUR DIRECT COMMUNICATION WITH MENTORING OF AMERICA. PUT YOUR COACHING CALLS ON HOLD IF YOU STILL HAVE ANY LEFT.

A. Stop your communications with Mentoring of America. If you still have coaching calls left, call and put those on hold. Record this conversation with a tape recorder just in case they don't do as you asked. After this, don't call them anymore. If you need anything, call Utah investigator Ao Pauga at 801-530-6601 about it instead.

B. Have a tape recorder ready and connected and tape record any phone calls that you may receive from any of John Beck or Mentoring of America's people. This can be valuable if someone tells you something, and then they don't do it or they later change their story. You will have it recorded on tape if you do this.

#6 READ THIS IF YOUR CREDIT CARD(S)/BANK ACCOUNT THAT YOU USED TO PAY FOR THIS PROGRAM ARE NOW CLOSED.

A. If you have now closed or canceled your credit card(s) account or bank account that you used at the time to pay for this program and are seeking a refund, mention this fact on your complaint forms, and say that you want your refund in the form of a hand signed CHECK, and not in the form of a credit back to your now closed account. If you don't, Mentoring of America will want to credit back a closed and non-existent account, which they can't do. If this is the case, don't sign any Refund Agreement forms they might have sent you. Instead, contact your bank/credit card company and have them fax you a short hand written statement saying that Mentoring of America must send you a hand signed refund check instead, because your account is now closed and they cannot credit it anymore. Call Mentoring of America, and fax this statement to them as well as the Refund Agreement you must have. Tape record this conversation with a tape recorder for your records. Follow up with them and ask for a tracking number for your refund check.

B. If your credit card/bank account is still open and active, disregard this final step.

IN CLOSING

I only ask for anyone who uses my suggestions and gets their money back from Mentoring of America to post a comment and share with us your refund dollar ammount. It gives me great personal satisfaction seeing people benefit from my suggestions. That is all I ask of you.
