Well now everything makes sense. For the past few days I've been going to interviews and app. with this agency. The first time I went in for an app and it was actually a "audition". We had to do kinda a commercial and to cat walk. Anyway now it makes sense why I was suprised to see the staff the "important people in the company" dressed with the cheapest outfits and why the office was all rip off and very cheap made. And also all those "xerox" pictures on the walls of all the super models.

Anyway they said that I was selected and that I need to pay about $1300 for 3 months of school. So I said yes and had to go the next day to sign a contract. Well when I came home my boyfriend got mad at me and said that I should do some background check before I pay that much money.

So I did and today I canceled my app.

Well you can see very well that they are selling people. because they are super nice and they don't really care about what you have to say. They are the one talking at all time, making you all kind of compliments.

I wish that it will be a way to stop them because some people actually fell for it and pay money for nothing.
sincerely, me

Monica

I wanted to say thank you for this eye opening information i just went today to "john Casablancas" and everything pretty much went down just like it did with you and of course i almost fell for it. They just called me a little while ago and said i was accepted, which of corse i was excited about untell they said i needed classes and they cost 1500 and i needed to have a down payment by tomorrow, then my alarm bells went off. So I agreed to meet with them at 2pm tomorrow but first I decided it might be good to look up some reviews on them "thank god i didnt" . I think i will call them back tomorrow and tell them to go F*#% themselves hehe. thank you for saving my a*s and my wallet  :)

No. You are wrong. It is not a rip off!!! I went their and yes it was 2000$...but that is for the SCHOOL! Not the agency. They will tell you if your good enough to BE in THEIR AGENCY. If you are...you can get a scolarship. Then you get their schooling and after the schooling they GET you work...you have a agent...you are now part of them. Yes you pay and that's not right but, nothings free...thats for sure...you have to pay atleast a little cause they can't afford to give everyone that has the ''talent'' to get it for free...but if you are under 14 then you work part time which you may get a few each month...so no...it is NOT a scam.

you are told when you sign up for the classes that they will decide to sign you after you complete (meaning you need to show up, since a lot of people flake out) which is why they do NOT cover the training.  if you are experienced then you will supply a reel and portfolio on your audition since they are a agency as well.  the agency is clear, and was with me, that they will decide to sign you after you complete the course, and you review your work, not test...but you still have to be ambitious to get the parts and the auditions.  they sign those who are an assest and get 20% of what you make, the classes and supplies and spot are what you pay for, just like you would at college only much less, since you don't have to buy or rent books.  saying training is useless, well, many people get degree's in acting, and i'm sure they'd love to know many think their training was worthless...

you will never have opportunities fall in your lap, and they can't get you a part, only an audition...which is why they give you training so you can LAND that audition.  they don't want to take a client that they aren't sure can land the part or "may" have the skills to get the part...b/c they won't make any money off that client as well as the client not making anything or making a name for themselves.

agents that don't make you take training are those who found the "talent" in bookings that are without management.  that's where you'd pay nothing, but you have to be "something" or on your way to "something" for that to happen, not just a "joe" off the street.

My children, ages 5 and 3, have just been signed to John Casablancas Modeling and career center. They are very nice and told me plainly that my daughter was unusable in certain things because of her age so they would be willing to sponsor her. My son was tested and told that if he did not loosen up that he would not be usable at all. We came back another day to try again, both children were relaxed and willing to do what they wanted. They stated that normally it costs $750 for the 7 week training. (not 1300 as previously posted)I feel that it is unfair for your company to allow others to slander companies in such a way because their feelings were hurt due John Casablancas not wanting her and her not getting a modeling contract.
