Have used John for 8 years and have only been treated fairly

AUTHOR: Michael V - (USA)

POSTED: Wednesday, December 09, 2015

Putting trust in a repair man can always cause anxiety - you never REALLY know if you are being treated fairly because the mechanic knows more than you.  But in eight years bringing my vehicles to John, I have never experienced or observed anything like what is described in this report.

I have only been treated with respect - they have always been very forthcoming with costs and charges, and always gave me options.

Cheaper mechanics may exist out there but I belive John is an honest businessperson and do not believe this report.

The Facts

AUTHOR: J. LaRue Auto Care - (United States of America)

POSTED: Monday, February 20, 2012

The complainant dropped off his car to have a tire fixed and the check engine light to be diagnosed.  When he came in to pick-up his vehicle my assistant told him the amount due and he stated that he was not going to pay the bill.  He was told that as per our policy, if he got the work needed done here, we would credit the diagnostic fee to the bill.

The complainant then started yelling and swearing at my assistant.  He was told that the bill had to be paid before he could take the car.  He got even more hostile with my assistant.  At that point my assistant went into the shop and had me come out.

I reiterated to the complainant what my assistant had already stated, that he had to pay before taking the car.  He then started yelling at me.  I took the keys and went into the shop with them.  The complainant proceeded to go outside and into the open shop bay.  He started yelling at me again.  At that point the police were called.

Once the police arrived they talked to all parties involved.  They advised the complainant to pay the bill for services rendered.  He paid the bill by credit card, not cash.  I did not take his keys home with me and he did not take a taxi home.  He went home in his own vehicle.
