They are a real scam. They play with your child's feelings. They make it look like your child won a competition. In fact, they tell everyone that their child won. However, their real intent is your money.
I had to cancel the contact within the first 48 hrs and I notified the owner, over the phone and in writing, and she agreed to give me the money back. A month later, I have not seen any money yet (I paid $9,940!!!!)
The owner has been rude to me over emails. First, when you go to their office and until you pay your money, they seem like the nicest people on the planet. They do not care about you or your child. It is bad enough that they rip off the parent, but to play with a child's feelings is cruel. They make it sound like if you go to school with them, the path to Hollywood has paved and your child has a bright future with them. They are professional deceivers and scammers.
Please stay away from them, but what is most important, please, keep your chld away from them. The last person they care is your child and they do not feel bad when they break a child's heart. No excuse for their behavior. Unfortunately, I found out who they really are after the fact. Please do not make the same mistake as I did. I paid for my mistake materially, but what's worse, my child's feelings were hurt.

I had a similar experience with the Colorado Springs branch of JRP. Paid lots of money, but got absolutely NOTHING out of it. Their "coaches" teach you absolutely nothing. Those "classes" are completely worthless and wastes of time. They got my hopes up and crushed my dreams. I'm surprised John Robert Powers is even still in business anymore.

Dear Monika,
Dreams do come true! This JRP School has opened the door for many Denver kids to be working in the entertainment industry. Just to name a few a few; 5yo Mia can be seen in the Hannah Montana Doll comercial for Matel, Joseph payed Adam Sandler's son in the movie CLICK, as well as guest starred in shows like Ghost Whispers, N.C.I.S, Crossing Jordan and the Mini Series Comanche Moon,Mellisa has modeled for Lands End, Amanda models for Ikon,NY & World Top,Japan. Caitlyn just recieved a callback to star in a new upcoming sitcom. We are keeping our fingers crossed.
Maybe this is not for your son, but why blame it on the school. And by the way you did receive a FULL REFUND!! We don't want your money, we want talented kids who have supportive parents who allows their kids to pursue their dreams. Our parents are very happy and we will continue to provide the best acting coaches for our kids in a safe enviroment. Our kids are intelligent and are well aware of choosing a competitive business for a career. They also know the school will continue to set up auditions for them until they are matched with an Agent and/or Talent Manager that works best for them. This is the school's investment, so we can't (and don't) take any child that walks in the door. As far as training costs, we hire coaches that have many years of experience in the entertainment industry. We must pay them well for they have be with us from 4 to 12 years and have produced many winners of the school.
As I have stated in my previous letters to you, your son had a lot of pottential. Yes we were excited to work with him, but now too many bridges have been burned. Maybe with the soccer schedule, the wedding and everything else that was going on in your life, that there was just too much on his plate. To close I'd like to say; DENVER HAS TALENT!

In response to your report YOU RECEIVED A FULL REFUND. It is unfortunate your child was not able to work with a coach, he had potential to do well. We make a point of selecting the best talent in Denver. We can't and don't promise any child or adult work in Hollywood. The actor must audition. Agents and casting directors make the decision, not the school. We must be doing our job well, we have many success stories.
